THE SUDDEN DEATH OF WARD CAMERON PLAGUED REIN'S THOUGHTS. Watching something, nonetheless, someone, die right in front of your eyes would never become a feeling someone could grow used to. Or at least hope not to grow used to.

As selfish as it may have been, all Rein could think about was her own dad. After watching Ward meet his fate with the fishes, she had began to wonder if somehow Ashton Partens reached his. She had to admit, it was a breath of fresh air to not have to worry about sneaking in through her bedroom window, or simple just heading upstairs to make herself something to eat and having the pleasure of running into her father. But part of her worried.

Of course, Ashton did tend to disappear at times, but never when no one was there to look after his youngest daughter. Although Rein had a hard time admitting it, she was sure the man had to have some sort of soft spot for herself to not leave her completely unattended.

She had pondered the idea of asking one of her three friends if they had heard from her father at all, or at least seen him, but decided against it — not wanting to hear their remarks or complaints on why she would even care. Rein did, however, recall JJ saying something about how he had no where to stay which made her wonder if Luke Maybank decided to drop off the face of the earth too, or if the blond boy was just simple done with the constant abuse.
