"Promise"

The next morning - 7:04 am

Lucas

I sat in the chair and I looked at Max as she was sleeping peacefully. Just thinking that she any day could be her last, really scares me. She woke up and looked at me.

Max - "Hey, goodmorning."

Lucas - "Good morning. How did you sleep?"

Max - "Good. How bout you?"

Lucas - "I slept good, too. Do you to get out of this bed and go for a walk?"

She smiled.

Max - "Sounds good."

We went outside the hospital. Max was still hooked up to the monitor that was giving her chemo. We had to take it with us.

Lucas - (Sigh)

Max - "What's wrong?"

Lucas - "Nothing's wrong, it's just I want to spend a lot of time with you as possible before y'know."

Max - "Lucas, can you promise me something?"

Lucas - "Of course. What is it?"

Max - "Promise me, you'll move on after I die. I know you love me so much but I'm not gonna be here much longer. I want you find someone else after I'm gone. I want to see you to continue to be happy and see you get married, have kids. Promise me."

Lucas - "....I promise."
