Aria's father left town soon after his fight with Tristan. Her mother was upset, blaming the couple for 'driving him away'. Aria had realised that her mother had been totally corrupted, so her staying with Tristan became a permanent thing. His parents didn't even hesitate to agree to her staying with him.
Christmas day was Aria's first Christmas away from her mom. It was better than any Christmas she'd had in the past, but what really mattered to her was the day after Christmas, the day she was gonna spend with her friends.
Tristan had told her not to open her present from him until they went out, so she said the same to Tristan. They'd planned go to a restaurant out of town, since the only decent one in town was one that they'd already been to.

"Wake up," Tristan whispered into Aria's ear. It was December 26th. Unofficial Christmas, but Christmas nonetheless for the group.
Aria turned around to look at Tristan. He still had a slight bruise on his cheek. He told his parents to got hit in the face by a ball, and they, for some reason, believed him.
"You look so pretty even with that stupid bruise," Aria said, running her thumb across his cheek.
Tristan furrowed his brows, but smiled. "What's got you in such a good mood this morning?"
"You. I'm excited to give you your present."
"Well good, because we're leaving soon."
"Soon? I thought we had reservations for four?"
"Yeah, and it's one. I didn't wake you up because you looked so cute sleeping."
"Shit, Tris! I need to shower and everything! Thank you, though, you're sweet." Aria rushed into the bathroom, showering as fast as she could and entering the room again wrapped in a towel. "Turn around, I'm changing," she said to Tristan, and he did so.
This had became their daily routine. They were comfortable changing in the same room as each other, but still didn't want the other to see anything. Like those friends you're really comfy with, but still not complete besties.
When Aria was changed, she did her makeup and was ready, grabbing her bag and her gifts off of the dresser. "Are you ready?" Tristan asked.
"Obviously, idiot."
The two left, driving to the place in Tristan's car. The agreed to meet elsewhere to open gifts. Aria got some jewellery and clothes from everyone else, and it came time to open her gift from Tristan.
It was too small boxes, wrapped in pink wrapping paper. She smiled at the colour, he knew it was her favourite.
She unwrapped the first gift to reveal a black boxed with a silver heart engraved on top of it. When she opened it, she found a silver ring with the initials T and A on it, engraved in small pink gems.
She opened the second gift, with had a similar black box with the same silver heart, but this one was a different shape. She opened it to find a necklace with a T dangling from it, the same pink gems as the ring. She looked up at Tristan, smiling when she saw that he had the same necklace with an A. She leaned over for a small kiss, then handed him his gift.
His gift was bigger. He unwrapped it and found a thick black book. He flicked through the pages, on each page were photos of days out that the two had together. There were a lot of empty pages in the book, which Tristan assumed were foe adding more memories. He was about to thank Aria, but he told him she had to flip right to the back.
On the back page, stuck down with a piece of tape, was a silver bracelet. Tristan picked up the bracelet and examined it, noticing that it had his and Aria's anniversary engraved in it. He smiled, leaning over to hug Aria.
When everyone's gifts were unwrapped, they made their way to the restaurant. Their food arrived quickly and actually tasted good, way better than if they would have went to a restaurant closer to home. Tristan was glad to see his girlfriend eating well again.
"I love you guys," Maddy said suddenly.
Everyone did a double take. They'd never heard Maddy say that. In fact, they never really said they love each other. Aside from the two couples, obviously.
"We love you, too, Mads," Aria said. Everyone agreed.
They spit the bill between them and headed out. It was winter, so it had already started to get dark. Aria held Tristan's hand as they walked yo his car.
"Thank you for my gifts," Aria said.
"You're welcome. Thank you for mine. I feel like it was a lot more heartfelt," Tristan said as they laughed.
"Hey, Tris?" Aria said as Tristan drove.
"Yeah?" He asked, not taking his eyes off the road.
"I know I say it, like, every hour of the day, but I really do love you. You've done so much for me. I'm sorry if I haven't really lived up to that."
Tristan placed his hand on her leg, keeping one of the steering wheel. "Hey, don't say that. You live up to it by being here. Waking up to your face every morning is my favourite part of the day. I love you, Aria."
"Thank you," she had, holding his hand.
"You know, if I wasn't driving, I would make out with you so passionately right now."
Aria slapped Tristan's hand. "Why do you have to ruin the moment?"
"I'm kidding! Kind of. I'd totally kiss you, though."
