Lying down under
The stars
Is overrated
I could never spend
A moment of my
Life
Staring at something
That has never
Changed,
Feared or
Died.
So
I make myself
Forget the map
Of pearly dome
And every night
I'm able to look at it
For the first time,
I tell myself:
Now that is something
Worth living for.
I take the longer bus
Back home
I stay quite when my
Girlfriend is in a hurry
And chooses the wrong
Path
So that we would spend
Another minute
Together
But it's always the same,
Cause there's a certain scheme
Or a principle:
First you take the longest path
Since the destination
Is yet not your friend
Then you cut a piece of that
Road and put in your
Pocket full of what some call
"Wasteful parts"
You shorten the path
Again and again
Until the journey no longer
Gives joy
And then you decide to forget
That you ever knew
How to get somewhere quick
Cause you are afraid
Of it coming too soon,
Meaning, ending too soon
As well.
So I take the longer trip
By bus to grasp
The length of the journey,
I stay quite when my girlfriend
Chooses the wrong path
Even though she's
Rushing.
I forget the shortcuts
And all that
Just to fell the change,
The death and the fear
Of a thought that creeps in
And says:
Well come on,
Hurry up, the end is near,
I just want to lie down
And whisper in your ear
How insignificant
Meaningless and useless
A human and his path is.
But I face this thought,
I find a new way
To forget and learn
Again.
Now that is something
Worth living for.
