THE NEXT MORNING, Sydney drove Miguel to the dojo. He told her how Sensei Kreese had something planned for them and they would be training in the woods. Sydney was highly suspicious. "I'm not sure if I'm comfortable with my boyfriend venturing off into the woods to learn karate."

"I'll be fine, Syd," Miguel assured. "I'm sure kreese had sure it's safe."

Sydney doubted that too but didn't say anything. "Just be safe, okay? I don't need to see on the news that you got eaten by a bear."

Miguel chuckled. "Okay. What are you gonna do while I'm gone?"

She gave him a look. "Why do you assume I only ever have plans with you?"

He looked taken back. "T-That wasn't what I meant."

"I do have friends besides you, y'know."

"Well for one,  I'm your boyfriend—two syllables, and two, who? Sam?" Miguel asked.

She scoffed. "I have friends that aren't Sam."

"Uh huh, like who?" He questioned. "Don't say me."

"You. What friends have you got? Don't say me." She shot.

"You."

"See, neither us us have friends." She exasperated.

"That's not true! I have. . . Hawk?" He hesitated. When he saw the look she gave him, he sighed. "Yeah, that doesn't help my argument."

She smiled sarcastically. "Not really."

Miguel rolled his eyes playfully and grabbed her hand that wasn't on the wheel. "I'm gonna miss you today."

"Aww, I'll miss you too," she pouted. "Try not to get kicked in the face okay? You're to pretty to have a black eye."

His eyes turned soft. "You think I'm pretty?"

"I think you're beautiful, honey."

He awed.  "Not as beautiful as you."

She shrugged.  "Well yeah,  we already knew it."

Miguel rolled his eyes again and cracked a smile.

They arrived at the dojo and Sydney pulled into a parking spot. "Have fun today. Son't hurt anyone." She pointed at him.

"I'll try my hardest," Miguel teased. He leaned over his seat and kissed her softly. "I'll see you later?"

"You better," she warned and kissed him again. "Bye."

"Bye babe." He said and slid out of the car, shutting the door and walking to the entrance of the dojo.

Sydney sighed lovingly. Then she frowned. "I do need more friends."
