Summary:
January 20.
Kisaki woke up to a quiet morning as always. Today was his birthday but he didn't care. No one would care.
His parents left him some birthday money, 10,000 yen. But all Kisaki wanted was one genuine "happy birthday". One that he didn't have to pay someone to say it to him.
...What if his wish happened today? And what if he got more than what he wanted.

Kisaki turned off his loud alarm, knowing it damn well it was time to wake up. Even if it was the weekend, sleeping in would just make him more tired tomorrow for school.
One glance at the calendar reminded him it was his birthday, even without any red circle or special sticker on the 20th date. It was a habit that his younger self had whenever he was anxious for the gifts he would receive, but all he got in the end were dull gifts.
No congratulations, no party, no happy smiles on his parents faces, none of that.
Last year, he gave up and just accepted the gifts, not expecting the one thing he truly wanted. Now he was in his third year of elementary, having an mature attitude from his parents.
He slid on his square glasses and clean clothes, walking downstairs for breakfast. Each step made his heart ring in his ears.
And there it was, the same white envelope that contained the same gift as always.
10,000 yen.
Any other kid would be ecstatic, pondering if they should spend it on toys, candy, cool supplies, but Kisaki just kept it, waiting for when he needs it. Breakfast was just a small wagyu steak, foie gras, and shiny rich sauce drizzled all over it. Eventually, the chef will bring dessert which will probably just be a bright cake made with the best ingredients.
The steak, that was known for it's exquisite fatty flavor, landed bland on Kisaki's tongue, even when the sliced cube of fat and flesh was coated with the runny sauce. He was just eating so he didn't starve and die.
After finishing breakfast, Kisaki took the envelope upstairs without waiting for dessert, storing it in the shoe box that shared 4-5 of the same white envelopes, all containing 10,000 yen of course.
His mood was soured. Maybe a walk outside could try to calm him.
The bright sun made his eyes squint. 'So damn bright.'
Kisaki ignored his driver's offer to drive him to his destination, wanting wanting some fresh air for his foul mood today. The playground was a bit far from his mansion but he didn't mind.
After 20 minutes, he reached the park with tired legs. Next to the park was a grassy field and 7 boys were playing soccer there. 'I'm thirsty.' A nearby vending machine tempted him to buy a drink, and so he did.
But just when he was about to reach the big red metal box, something hit his head, his glasses falling to the ground. The weapon hit the floor, and it was a soccer ball.
