"You should cut them off.", Rose said, putting her tray away. Millie nodded, "Yeah, you know how terrible they are, especially to Nozomi.", she added.
I shrugged, walking down the hall with the two. "I don't know, they might treat me like her or even worse if I stop being friends with them.", I replied, eyes on the ground.
"I know, but Nozomi doesn't deserve this either, none of their victims do as well. Eventually, they might actually make someone bleed.", the brunette responded, "They seriously make me wanna drop out of high school."
Millie stretched her fingers, "Same here. But let's not jinx it."
Suddenly, we heard a harsh thud against the lockers from down the hall.
Nozomi, and him.
"Nozo!", Rose yelled, her and Millie immediately running to her aid. I trailed behind them, running to the scene.
He grinned, "Well, she got what she deserved.", he started, looking at me, "Right?"
I felt a lump in my throat, as I gulped, looking from the girls to him, thinking of who to side with.
"Uh... Yeah.", I muttered, giving a sympathetic stare towards the injured girl. "But don't you think that's a bit much?", I continued, starting to get nervous.
He raised a brow, "Hm? Really? I think she deserves more."
I stayed quiet for a moment, "Let's just leave her for now. I'll meet you at the spot where the others are.", I said, trying to get the two away from each other. He gave me a sceptical look, before nodding and leaving.
The moment he was out of sight, I was met with a disappointed Millie. "You didn't even try to defend her?"
I averted my eyes to the ground, shameful. "I'm sor-"
"Look at her.", Millie interrupted, as I shifted my gaze to the hazel-eyed girl.
She had a wound on her right arm, her nose was bleeding, and it seemed as if she had small cuts on her face. It didn't seem like she would be able to walk properly either, seeing the bruises on her legs.
My breath hitched, realising just how severe this was.
Rose was hugging her, rubbing her back comfortingly, as she cried, small muffled noises of pain here and there.
"I...", I mumbled, "I'm so sorry, I didn't expect he would do something like this.", I apologised on his behalf, despite knowing an apology won't make this right.
"You seriously need to cut them off, they've made you so... mean.", Rose said, hoisting her and the injured girl up. "Help us take her to the nurse's office."
Nozomi tensed, shaking her head, hugging Rose tighter. The brunette patted her on the head. "Huh, you don't want help from him?", Millie asked. "No... Please, I... I don-don't want...", she replied, choking on her tears.
I only frowned, realising I've probably made her afraid of me.
"Alright then. We'll take you, you're in good hands, don't worry.", Millie reassured, as Nozomi nodded.
I sighed, waiting for them to make it into the nurse's office, before meeting up with my friends.
"Let's cut ties with each other."
