As the serviceman for the country you did your job. You got a promotion, bagde upgradation. No more crime, no more mafia and..no more Jungkook.
You waited in the car as Namjoon came inside and took over the steering wheel after giving you the ice cream you craved for. When you thanked him he chuckled," My oh my! You're cravings are only increasing. It's only six mon-"
"Ouch!" You held your baby bump. "She kicked."
Namjoon had to pull over to the side lane. He always took extra care. He overlapped the hand and asked," Do we have to return back to clinic?" He was concerned.
You shook your head and said," Nah, it's fine. It happens once in a while. Want some ice cream?"
He couldn't believe you're face immediately lifted up. Sometimes he couldn't differentiate between bipolar patients and a pregnant lady. Both act the same.
"Don't mess with me, Y/N. You freak me out."
"It's not your duty. Although I am thankful that you take time to help me bu you should focus on crime."
He giggled," It's my duty. If I won't then I'll be beaten."
"I won't beat you." You laughed while thr traffic ligh went red.
He mumbled," Someone else would." You didn't heard as your eyes looked out at a couple crossing the crosswalk as they were mutually lifting their daughter in air by hands. The daughter looked happy. You wondered if your daughter would be happy being a child of a single mother. You couldn't force her to understand why she doesn't had a father like others or why you weren't ready to marry. She'll be too young and craving for a fatherly figure would become a must.
"Y/N? Y/N!"
"Y-Yes?" You came out of daydream.
"We came back home," said Namjoon. You looked out and really you didn't noticed that now the car wash pulled over the porch of a small house in a suburban area. It was in the same city where you worked, away from the eyes of your parents. Namjoon also stayed here as a brother-cum-bodyguard and in his absence he hired a maid to look after you.
It was so kind of him.
He helped you come out and walked you into the house. When you sat on the couch he put a cushion behind your back and brought you a glass of water.
You drank it and exhaled. "How are you feeling?" He asked. You grimaced,"It's not as easy as lifting a dumbbell." He laughed.
Namjoon tugged the hair behind your ear and said," Where's the Y/N I know? This baby really unlocked a new version of you. You were so rebellious and now you follow your raw feelings."
"I think so. It's natural. It's a typical survival instinct where I want to give everything so that I can protect her."
Namjoon was hesitant bu he had to get the answer of it, anyhow. "Do you think you'll open up her about her appa?"
You would keep the baby as yours. "No one would let the baby know who was her father."
"And what about finding your own married life? Are you in for dating after giving birth?"
"It's hard, Namjoon. Men these days don't want a title. Who would be available to take responsibility of one plus one? Love can't be the only factor to make him sacrifice his chances of having a stable lifestyle."
"What's wrong in that?"
The problem was you being old school.
You said," I'd mostly be out on missions and catching criminals. He had to look after a girl which won't be his. It's impossible that he'd be as caring as me. If I stay single then in that way I'd always have a buzz to keep my baby close and safe rather than turning her into a responsibility of someone else."
