Poem: Message to America

AMERICA
Your flag stands tall
You have everyone in awe

AMERICA
Let's sit down & chat
Please stop acting like a brat

AMERICA
How is it the land of the home & brave
When each year their are more graves

AMERICA
How is it the land of the free
But yet humans are seen as a fee

AMERICA
Tell me now are you happy
That your morals are overruled by logic
And that we seem to be apart of your project

AMERICA
What do you expect to gain?
Having our children live in fear
When the madman puts on his gear
And the protectors aren't even near

AMERICA
Does "I can't breathe" sound familiar
Or maybe it's just a little easier
To turn your cheek
Avoid the conflict you say
But I mean your the one in the cockpit

AMERICA
All eyes on you
What's your next move?
Silent now are we?

AMERICA
Is your mouth shut as well?
Just as the humans that you secretly sell

AMERICA
"Strike 3," you say
When the truth is spoken
But how would you know?

AMERICA
Don't you get tired of lying
Your messiness has a girl crying
And babies dying

AMERICA
It's not rocket science
To show compassion
To see immigrants as people
Instead of waiting to when their legal
And even still your colors show
Not the red, white, and blue
But the real you

AMERICA
Your time is late
To mend past mistakes
But never too late
To admit we need a new take

AMERICA
You see these new generations
Who speak out more boldly
More loudly

AMERICA
I still believe their is hope because of them
It's time to break the stem
Of hate & prejudice
And rethink our methods

AMERICA
They pave the way for breakthrough
Even if you do not see them move
For everything starts small
Before it stands tall

AMERICA
Let's learn to be kind
Learn to be one mind
....For Liberty
And Justice For All
