Narrator:

Jungkook woke up.

His eyes stared up at the boring white ceiling of his dorm room, a sight he had seen over and over, it was the start of every morning, the end of every day, it was the very thing that seemed to blur the days together, making it seem like Jungkook was trapped in a cycle of repetition. Jungkook lifted his hand up to his chest and rested over the part where he felt his heart, checking if it was still beating. These past few days Jungkook has been feeling... empty, and sometimes it felt like his heart had just... stopped beating. His emptiness carried over to his idol acts, his voice didn't carry any emotion when he sang, and neither did his dance moves. They were all empty, just like how his heart was feeling at the moment.

Jungkook sat up from bed and his eyes drifted over to the clock. 12 AM, midnight. Jungkook sighed and ran a hand through his hair, his eyes trailing on his lap as his mind flashed back to the moment he saw in his dream. He had been crying, if his wet eyes and cheeks were anything to go by. He was reaching out to someone, Seokjin hyung, he recalled, then Yoongi hyung, then Hoseok and Namjoon hyung, then Jimin and Taehyung hyung. He doesn't remember exactly, but they had to go somewhere, somewhere far away, somewhere where he couldn't get to them. They had to go, it wasn't by their choice, but they had to leave him, and he had to continue on his own until they returned.

And then... he was the one leaving.

He was the one turning around and walking away from them. He was the one walking away to that cold scary place. That place where he had to go to for an entire year, alone. His hyungs had to leave him, and then he had to leave them. He had to be alone. Jungkook had a few guesses on why he had that dream. It was almost time for Seokjin hyung's enlistment into the army, he had to leave and return after a whole year and a half, until then, he had to wait and watch as his other hyungs got enlisted one by one, until Jimin hyung and Taehyung hyung return, and half a year later he has to be the one to leave. He will be all alone on that army base, no hyungs, no family, no one to protect him or be with him.

Jungkook didn't realize he was crying until he felt something wet land on his hand. He quickly wiped them off, but they just kept coming. Jungkook didn't know why the prospect of being alone was affecting him so much, but it did, and it was affecting him in the worst fucking way possible. Letting out a shaky sigh, Jungkook climbed out from under the covers and walked out of his room, heading to the kitchen to grab some water. He filled his cup with some water from the sink faucet before bringing it up to his lips. The cold water felt freezing as it dribbled down his throat into his stomach. It sat there, awkwardly, it felt weird and wrong. Jungkook sighed as he set the cup down with a clink, pressing his hand onto his face.

'What's happening to me...?' He thought as he let out another sigh, 'why am I so stressed over this?' He didn't realize someone was walking up to him until a hand landed on his shoulder. "Jungkook-" Startled, Jungkook jumped and dropped the cup onto the floor. Before Jungkook could even reach for it, another hand came up and grabbed it from underneath. Jungkook turned to see Seokjin and Namjoon standing there, their eyes filled with something akin to worry. "You okay Kook-ah?" Namjoon asked, squeezing his shoulder, "you're never awake at this time of night" Jungkook opened his mouth to reply, but then a sob choked at his throat at the sight of Seokjin, his dream flashing once again in his head.

Both Namjoon and Seokjin were startled when Jungkook suddenly broke down into tears, globs of salty water dribbling down Jungkook's cheeks as he did his best to wipe them away. Seokjin quickly set the cup down on the counter and wasted no time in taking Jungkook into his arms with Namjoon. "Jungkook what's wrong?" Seokjin asked gently as he patted Jungkook's back. Jungkook didn't reply and just buried his face deeper into Seokjin's chest. Seokjin gently stroked the top of Jungkook's head as he turned to exchange glances with Namjoon. Namjoon rushed off to find the others while Seokjin gently coaxed Jungkook to the couch. Once seated, Jungkook broke down again, tears spilling as he gripped tightly onto Seokjin's clothes, as if he let go Seokjin would be gone and disappear forever.
