The Devil's Dues

I will pretend to be your friend,
Promise you riches and fame.
But with me the only thing you can rely on,
Is life with me won't be the same.

I will take you down roads you never would travel,
Without me right by your side.
Introduce you to new crowds of different people,
Make it all feel like a joy ride.

I will tease you and tempt you,
Charm you repeatedly to do things my way.
Then take pleasure in watching it all fall apart,
Laughing as I walk away.

Dont worry though I'll return again and again,
Each time with a different new look.
The only thing I will want in return,
Is your soul added to my book.

I don't care if you die broken,
Or if you're hooked on drugs, sex, and booze.
I just want your soul to be mine in the end,
Cause the devil always gets his dues.
