Elijah's POV

I kept my face void as we drove into the vicinity of the city of bones, I had my arm around Alec's waist but not even his less then subtle glances could calm me, I had heard from mom of the silent brothers,

The clave members granted powers by the Angel Ezekiel, The members that had taken both their sight and their ability of speech sewing them away with twine, now having to by pass your mind in order to just peak to you,

The city of bones rested under a bride the space vast and overgrown, the perfect place for juvenile delinquents to come and spray paint the pillars, there were fires scattered around, to the mundane people it probably looked like a Homeless people safe haven but to those with sight it was the entrance to one of the most sacred places in Shadow hunter history.

The van came to a stop and I felt dread pool in my stomach, I had heard that the trial to find past memories was horrid and that it caused inexplicable pain as your mind tore itself in two to recover what was lost,

"Yeah, this place isn't creepy. Not at all." Simon said as I crossed my arms over my chest,

"Don't tell me you're afraid." Izzy replied which caused Simon to blush,

" Are you kidding me? I was born afraid... which sounded a lot better in my head." Simon muttered and I rolled my eyes before focusing on the surrounding area, I wasn't about to let anyone get hurt at least not while I was around,

"Let's check it out." Alec stated and I looked up at him seeing the look of determination on his face causing something in my stomach to stir but not in a bad way,

"Wait here a minute. I wanna see if it's safe." Jace announced and I nodded earning a nod in return.

The second they walked away Simon was on Clary like a Hound dog which caused me to roll my eyes as I walked towards the back of the van, the stress of the situation getting to me once more,
