Chapter 1

Sunday
Lexie: tell me again why we couldn't have at least moved in with Bryce (follows Jaden towards the front door of their new house)
Jaden: because Bryce is in Vegas filming a movie right now and besides Q is living with us
Lexie: it's not the same without the others
Jaden: I know lex but what do you want me to do? Sway is on a break since Bryce and Noah are away filming, Kio is traveling, griffin is doing business in Miami and that would just leave josh and Anthony.. and I'd rather not have to live with my ex and his new girlfriend
Lexie: don't remind me josh is so excited for me to meet gabi as if I am going to like her (crosses her arms)
Jaden: hey don't do that
Lexie: what?
Jaden: that, you automatically disliking her isn't going to fix anything
Lexie: if I am mean to her do you think she'll go away?
Jaden: no it'll just get you in trouble and you know better than to be mean to her when she hasn't done anything to you
Lexie: she stole josh from you
Jaden: no she didn't we were broken up for three months before they got together and you know that
Lexie: still do I have to see him tonight (whines)
Jaden: yeah you do he still has half custody of you and you haven't seen him in a month
Lexie: he's not the problem it's her
Jaden: be nice (opens the front door) your room is upstairs across from mine and the door has your name on it
Lexie: okay can you take my suitcase upstairs it's too heavy
Jaden: yeah I got it
Lexie: thanks (starts walking upstairs with her duffel bag)
Lexie's pov
I found my room and opened the door and as much as I wanted to hate it I couldn't because it was actually really pretty. The walls were a light ocean blue color, I had a white canopy bed in the middle with matching night stands and a dresser. Then I had my desk and laptop already set up along with a mini couch in the corner of the room, my balcony was over looking the pool and jacuzzi and I still had my bathroom which had a jacuzzi style bathtub and shower which was painted a soft yellow. The whole room definitely gave off beach vibes and I was in love. I set my duffel bag on the bed and didn't bother unpacking it because I was going to Josh's anyway.. and I must be psychic because as soon as I think of him my phone starts vibrating and I check the caller ID and sure enough it's him.

Lexie: hey Joshy (smiles)
Josh: hi princess how are you?
Lexie: good just settling into the new house
Josh: how do you like it?
Lexie: it's okay (shrugs her shoulders) anyway what are you up to?
Josh: I am waiting for gabi to finish getting ready so we can go pick you up
Lexie: so like.. I am meeting her today?
Josh: yeah why?
Lexie: I don't know I just thought that after a month of not seeing you it would just be the two of us
Josh: aww princess I would love that but when she's in town she stays with me so you are going to have to meet her and please be nice
Lexie: why do you and Jaden keep saying that I am not mean
Josh: you were to nessa and Mads
Lexie: I had my reasons and as long as gabi doesn't get on my bad side I am sure we'll be fine (smiles)
Josh: hmm okay well I'll let you go but I'll be there in like an hour
Lexie: okay byee
Josh: later lex

Lexie's pov
I let out a groan and flopped onto my bed because I really really don't want to meet gabi yet, but Jaden already said that I had to go so I guess I have no choice and since I don't really have anything else to do it wouldn't hurt to work on my new song so I took out my notebook and my bed and sat up and started writing new lyrics.

Jaden: hey Carter
Carter: hey J are you back in LA?
Jaden: yeah I just got back why?
Carter: how do you feel about coming to emo night?
Jaden: when? Tonight?
Carter: yeah
Jaden: I don't know Carter I just got back and I was going to take it easy tonight
Carter: that's boring come with my friends and I pleaseee plus there's someone I want you to meet
Jaden: oh no don't even think about it
Carter: you don't even know what I am thinking
Jaden: you are trying to play Cupid and I don't want to play
Carter: it's not like that really I mean do I think she's totally your type and you guys will hit it off absolutely plus she already thinks you are hot
Jaden: you aren't going to stop until I say yes are you?
Carter: nope
Jaden: fine pick me up at ten
Carter: yess!! See you later baby
Jaden: (laughs) alright later

One hour later
Knock knock knock
Jaden: I am coming I am coming (walks over to the front door and opens it) oh hey josh..
Josh: hey uh is Lexie ready?
Jaden: yeah just one second, Lexie josh is here!!!
Lexie: (yells from upstairs) coming!!
Josh: so how have you been?
Jaden: good how about you?
Josh: good
Jaden: that's good I guess.. so uh Lexie and I have a video with cosmopolitan on Tuesday do you want to drop her off at the studio or do you want me to pick her up from your house?
Josh: you can pick her up from the house it's fine
Jaden: okay
(There's an awkward silence for a few minutes)
Josh: Jaden about the nessa thing after we broke up
Jaden: I'd rather not talk about that, Lexie are you almost done!
Josh: but
Jaden: seriously drop it okay?
Josh: okay
Lexie: (runs downstairs) sorry I was making sure kitty had food and water in her bowls
Josh: okay are you ready now?
Lexie: yeah (turns around and hugs jaden) bye bubba I love you
Jaden: love you too baby, I'll see you Tuesday okay?
Lexie: okay
Josh: later
Jaden: bye take care of her
Josh: you know I will
(Josh and Lexie walk away and jaden closes the door)
Lexie: so.. she's in the car?
Josh: yeah you ready?
Lexie: I guess (opens the back door)
Gabi: hi lexie (smiles) it's great to finally meet you
Lexie: (fake smiles and gets in the car) you too
Gabi: i am so excited that you are staying with us this week it'll give us some time to get to know each other and maybe do a girls day, go get our nails done does that sound fun?
Lexie's pov
Oh no she's not serious is she? Please tell me she isn't it's been three seconds since I stepped in the car and already she wants to try and bond with me!? Yeah that's a hard no not going to happen and I might want to set the record straight now.. in a Polite way since josh might get mad at me.

Lexie: gabi I mean this in the most respectful way possible but we just met three seconds ago can we calm it down on the whole girl bonding thing
Josh: Lexie!
Lexie: what? I was being polite (shrugs her shoulders)
Gabi: it's okay josh really I understand you must be feeling a little overwhelmed right?
Lexie: something like that
Gabi: I am sorry if I am came off to strong it's just josh talks about you all the time and I was really excited to meet you
Lexie: it's okay I get it and I am sorry if that was harsh I just want to establish some kind of boundaries at least right now I am sure you are great and everything it's just like you said it's new and overwhelming.. I could have expressed myself differently though
Gabi: it's okay really
Lexie: thanks
Josh: so how about we go have lunch at terra it's this great Italian place you'll love it lex
Lexie: okay sounds good, can you turn the radio up?
Josh: yeah sure (turns up the radio a bit)
Lexie's pov
I rolled down the window and let the breeze in, felt the sun on my face and smelled the ocean breeze, closed my eyes and finally felt like I was home for the first time since leaving for tour and even though I am back and things have changed j am going to try and embrace those changes.. kind of we'll see. I was feeling peaceful until I felt my phone vibrate so I pulled it out of my pocket and saw Clare was texting me.

Clare: girllyyy are you back yet?
Lexie: haha yess I am back how about you?
Clare: just landed at LAX what are you up to?
Lexie: having lunch with josh and gabi
Clare: ooo how's that going?
Lexie: she expects me to bond with her after just meeting her and I am trying to be nice because I know that she makes josh happy.. even though it makes me mad
Clare: I am sorry boo want to stay at my house tonight?
Lexie: I doubt it, josh hasn't seen me in a month so I am sure he'll want one night where I am home how about tomorrow?
Clare: okay that works I am still with my dad anyway since Justin and mom are in Canada for a few more weeks
Lexie: okay, we just pulled up to the restaurant so I'll let you know about tomorrow later
Clare: okay have fun at lunch
Lexie: thanks

Lexie's pov
Josh parked the car and we all got out and started walking to the front entrance and once we were inside it wasn't that busy so we were led to our tables right away which was on the rooftop so we had an amazing view of the Hollywood sign and all of LA. I decided that this would actually be a good time to take a picture and post on Instagram since I haven't done that in a few days.

Lexie: hey josh can you take a pic of me with the sign in the back?
Josh: yeah sure and then we'll do a group one
Lexie: yeah okay, how should I pose?
Josh: how about a basic stand with your feet apart and hands on your waist?
Lexie: Boringgg.. gabi do you have any ideas?
Gabi: lean against the railing and have one hand on it and your other hand up but make it look like you are playing with your hair
Lexie: I like that, thanks (she poses for the pic and josh takes it and then hands her phone back) I'll just caption it like finally back home and then we can take the group one
Josh: okay
Lexie's pov
After I posted my photo on insta josh used his phone to take a selfie of the three of us and he posted it with the caption "got both my girls with me, welcome home lex love you" which I thought was sweet but ugh it's just not the same.. I have to stop Jaden and josh aren't together anymore it is what it is and I just need to accept that. And with that thought I walked over to our table and sat down to look through the menu.

(Jaden is at the house and now Quinton is there too)
Jaden: Q I need help, Carter wants to introduce me to someone and for once I have no idea what to wear
Quinton: you are joking right?
Jaden: does it look like I am?
Quinton: J you are the most fashionable and confident guy I know so what's really going on?
Jaden: (sighs and sits down) what if I don't want to move on?
Quinton: you still love him don't you?
Jaden: yeah I do but I am also mad at him
Quinton: for the nessa thing or..
Jaden: the nessa thing is part of it but that's not what annoys me he told me in the beginning that he didn't have any unresolved feelings for her then two weeks later he's walking buddy with her, going to clubs, taking her to Canada and it was like our relationship meant nothing
Quinton: that's not true Jaden he loved you
Jaden: then why did he start dating gabi after nessa instead of fighting for us?
Quinton: I don't know Jaden but I think Carter's right you need to give yourself a chance to move on because it doesn't seem like you and josh are magically going to fix things
Jaden: your right
Quinton: good so what's the outfit going to be?
Jaden: how about my black tank top with the skull on it and some ripped jeans
Quinton: yeah that shirt its sick
Jaden: alright then that's what I am going with and I also think I am going to hit up the barber quick to and get a haircut
Quinton: alright I'll be here unpacking and then probably stream on twitch for a bit
Jaden: alright (grabs his car keys and leaves the house)
Scene change
Josh: how's the penne vodka lex?
Lexie: it's so good I am in love (jokes)
Josh: well finally a food you actually love
Lexie: haha very funny, what are doing after this?
Josh: I was thinking we could walk around the beach if you guys want
Gabi: yeah I love that idea
Lexie: yeah sounds good but uh tomorrow can I spend the night at Clare's? They are back from tour too so she invited me
Josh: what about your interview with cosmo Tuesday?
Lexie: I'll just have Jaden pick me up from there she's a block away now so it should be fine
Josh: then yeah I guess it's okay
Lexie: thanks joshy (kisses his cheek)
Josh: hmm you are welcome
Lexie's pov
An hour later we were done eating and heading towards the beach which was perfect timing because the sun is about to set. When we got into the parking lot josh parked the car and grabbed a few towels to lay out on the sand so we could sit. After we got situated I stood up and walked towards the shore just to feel the water between my feet. It was ice cold but I didn't mind, I closed my eyes and let myself feel in this moment until I felt a pair of arms wrap around me and pull me into a hug.

Josh: I am glad you are home princess
Lexie: me too I missed you
Josh: I missed you too (kisses the top of her head) you know I was a little worried about how you would feel towards me after everything that happened we didn't really talk about it when I came to see you on the road
Lexie: I had nothing to say.. my drama with her ended after making dying on the inside and by the time you decided to try being with her again I just didn't care
Josh: you also didn't talk to me or her for two months I had to fly there to finally get your attention
Lexie: and by then she was out of the picture so it didn't matter
Josh: so you are saying if she stayed in the picture you would have kept ignoring me?
Lexie: sorry but yeah, she's ruined a lot and I was dumb enough to give her a second chance and thinking we could actually be friends
Josh: I am sorry lex
Lexie: was it worth it?
Josh: was what worth it?
Lexie: losing Jaden was it worth it?
Josh: (sighs) as a friend no it wasn't worth it as anything else.. I moved on lex
Lexie: well then I hope gabi makes you happy (shrugs her shoulders and starts to walk away)
Josh: okay hold up
Lexie: what? (Turns around with her arms crossed)
Josh: please don't be mad
Lexie: I am not
Josh: yes you are I can see it in your body language and the way you just walked away from me
Lexie: because I don't want to talk about it what's done is done can we go home now?
Josh: (sighs) yeah I guess
Lexie: great
(Josh, gabi and Lexie pack up their beach stuff and walk back to the car where it's quiet except for the radio playing in the back until they pull up to the house)
Lexie: I'll be in the dance room don't bother me (gets out of the car and walks inside the house)
Gabi: (looks at josh) what happened at the beach?
Josh: the thing that happens every time I try to get Lexie to talk about her feelings.. she shuts down (facepalms his forehead)
Gabi: (rubs circles on his back) it'll be okay josh just give her some time
Josh: I hope (pecks gabi on the lips) come on let's go inside (they both get out of the car and walk to the front door)
Lexie's pov
Once I put my bags in my bedroom, I went back downstairs to fill up my water bottle and then walked up to the third floor and stepped into my dance studio. I walked over to my stereo and blasted what the hell by Avril because number one it's a great song and two I could probably come up with some choreography for it so i did a quick fifteen minute warm up and then let the music take over. I don't exactly know how long I stayed dancing for but I didn't stop until I felt like my legs were going to give out on me and I was out of breath so I turned off the stereo and checked my phone to see it was now eight o clock which meant I was dancing for five almost six hours no wonder I am exhausted. I took a few sips from my water bottle and then left the studio and went towards my room to take a shower. I let the hot water soothe my muscles that still felt like they were on fire but it was a good feeling because it means I pushed myself, I stayed in for a good thirty minutes just relaxing and then finally washed myself and decided to get out, I threw on a black long sleeve shirt with some sweat pants and some fuzzy socks and walked downstairs towards the living room where I saw Ant so I ran up behind him and wrapped my arms around his waist.

Ant: Jesus kid you scared me (hugs her) but welcome back to LA how do you feel?
Lexie: good, happy to be back but I miss everyone
Ant: they'll be back soon, how was tour?
Lexie: eh eventful but fun
Ant: that's good
Lexie: yeah how are you doing? You haven't really been posting that much or streaming..
Ant: yeah I know I have needed to take a step back from everything after my breakup with Avani but I'll get back into it soon
Lexie: good also I am sorry about the breakup
Ant: thank you and I am sorry about yours..
Lexie: yeah well shit happens (shrugs her shoulders)
Ant: still I am sorry especially the way it happened you didn't deserve that
Lexie: it is what it is where's buddy I want to see her and meet baloo
Ant: she's so cute you are going to love her, they are in the backyard come on let's bring them in
(Anthony starts walking towards the back door and Lexie follows him as he opens the door and buddy immediately tackles Lexie and starts licking her)
Lexie: (laughs) I missed you to girl (kisses her fur and rubs her belly and then looks at baloo) and you must be the newest baby hi (pets her too) you guys must be best friends
Anthony: oh yeah they get along great
Lexie: that's good (keeps petting the dogs and then stops and stands up) where's josh?
Anthony: I think upstairs in their bedroom
Lexie: oh it's not.. is it?
Anthony: yeah josh didn't want to move bedrooms and he didn't think it would matter
Lexie: ugh okay (starts walking up to josh and Jaden's old bedroom and knocks on the door)
Josh: (opens it) since when do you knock?
Lexie: since you have a girlfriend now but anyway I just came up to say I am sorry for the way I acted in the car
Josh: it's okay lex you don't have to apologize I know you are probably having mixed feelings about everything and I don't want to push.. I remember what happened when Jaden pushed you and I'd rather not repeat history (jokes)
Lexie: (laughs) yeah that's probably smart but what are you guys doing?
Josh: gabi is just getting ready because she has a girls event to go tonight but you can come in
Lexie: uh no thanks but do you want to come downstairs and watch a movie with me?
Josh: yeah I'll be right down
Lexie: okay (smiles and walks downstairs to the living room)
Scene change
Gabi: well that sounded promising
Josh: yeah I am glad (smiles) maybe just giving her space was the best thing to do
Gabi: I agree (kisses him) I should get going I don't want to be late
Josh: okay have fun tonight (kisses her)
(Josh and gabi walk downstairs and she leaves while josh walks towards the living room)
Josh: so what movie?
Lexie: this new Adam Sandler movie on Netflix
Josh: okay (sits on the couch next to her)
A couple hours later
Scene change
(Jaden and Quinton pull into the parking lot of the club for emo nite)
Jaden: I am regretting this already
Quinton: stop this is going to be fun
Jaden: for who? Me or you?
Quinton: both of us now let's go (opens the passenger door)
Jaden: finee
(Jaden opens the drivers seat and gets out of the car and both of them walk inside the club and spot carter and his group in the VIP section)
Carter: look who finally made it!! (Walks over to Jaden and hugs him) I was starting to think you weren't going to show
Jaden: not going to lie that did cross my mind but I am here
Quinton: I am going to get us some drinks (starts walking to the bar)
Carter: (starts guiding jaden to his group) guys this is my new friend I was telling you about jaden this is Sofia and her sister Victoria, you obviously know Kylie through Kourtney and Travis
Kylie: hi jaden it's good to see you again (hugs him)
Jaden: you too
Carter: and this is my friend Anastasia but you can just call her stassie
Jaden's pov
Okay it doesn't take a genius to see how damn gorgeous stassie is but I wasn't expecting her to be this gorgeous she actually caught me off guard and took my breath away.

Stassie: so you are the rockstar on Travis's label? (Looks him up and down) cute
Jaden: (smirks) well I could say the same about you but cute is an understatement because you are gorgeous
Stassie: and straightforward I like that (smiles at him)
(Jaden is about to say something when Quinton comes back with the drinks)
Quinton: I just got you a beer since I know you aren't into the strong stuff (hands him the beer)
Stassie: can't hold your liquor?
Jaden: more like I prefer to stay sober for emergency purposes
Stassie: well I actually respect that honestly, do you want to go sit down and talk some more?
Jaden: yeah lead the way
One hour later
Dj: alright alright everyone so I just got word that Mr. Jaden hossler is in the house tonight!!! Also known as jxdn who just got off touring with machine gun Kelly and headlining his own tour!! And he's about to perform for us tonight!!
Jaden: this has Carter written all over it
Carter: guilty as charged get on up there
Jaden: (shakes his head) alright alright I'll be right back (looks at stassie)
Stassie: can't wait to see you up there rockstar
(Jaden smiles and walks up to the stage and takes the microphone from the DJ)
Jaden: thank you DJ Kennedy while this definitely took me by surprise because I wasn't planning on performing a song tonight I guess I can play you an unreleased so all you gotta do is know the chorus which is I feel like shit when I look at you! Easy enough to remember?
Crowd: yeah!!
Jaden: alright (hands his phone to the DJ) play that track for me will you?
Kennedy: yeah I got you (hooks up Jaden's phone)
Jaden: Tastes like Heaven hurts like hell, we lock eyes I am in his spell and I hate myself, I hurt myself do you hate me I can't tell no I can't tell, fuck you i don't want to miss you no more take two I would let you walk out the door, hate me throw my shit all over the floor I feel like shit when I look at you, I feel like shit when I look at you I feel like shit when I look at you and I hope I never see you againnn

Lexie's pov
Josh and I finished watching you are not invited to my bah mitzvah which wasn't bad but it wasn't great either but it wasn't about the movie honestly it was just about spending time with josh which we got to do and by the time the movie was over gabi was back and it was late so I just said goodnight to both of them and went upstairs to my room and fell asleep.

(Jaden's done performing and he's back to hanging out with stassie)
Stassie: so that song was.. aggressive going through a breakup?
Jaden: kind of we've been broken up for a while now but I wrote that song at the height of my feelings
Stassie: and how do you feel now?
Jaden: like I am ready to move on
Stassie: well then how about the two of us get out of here
Jaden: I say let's do it (pecks her on the lips)
