Chapter 53: Check-up

YOUR POV

You stand there, and Severus pulls you to his side.. You watch as they slowly lower Samuels casket into the ground... Your heart breaks as you recall the events of the night before... You look up at Severus and see his eyes are watery.. but his face does not waver.. 

Once he is lowered, they begin to shovel the dirt in, and you two take the moment to head back to the house... 

"How many months are you love?" Severus says holding your hand leading you through the rough patches on the trail back to your house.. 

35 weeks, next week I will be 9 months pregnant.. You say cracking a smile...

"We are close darling, I can't wait to meet him.." He says smiling... 

Once you got back to the house, Severus helps you take a shower... Then into your nightgown... you were so weak from the events of the night before... You really need to be checked on because of the stress from what happened..

Severus, will you get Madam Pomfrey? I would like to check on the baby...Stress can affect the baby and I just want to check on him after the events of yesterday.. 

"I will go get her love..I'll be back" He says kissing you on the head and waving his wand to teleport. 

Not long after he is gone, they are back... 

 Hello Madam Pomfrey.. 

"Hello dear! Let's see how you are doing?"  she says as she begins to run her tests.. 

.....

"I am just going to be honest.." She says as she sits down beside you on the edge of the bed.. 

"He has lowered and is in the position and ready to come out...We need to keep an eye on you incase your water breaks." You nod your head, and you look at Severus and see the excitement in his eyes.. 

"I am putting you on bedrest, so that you might be able to go to full term.. If he comes earlier it should be ok but I would like you to try to get to term.. " She says standing and grabbing her stuff. 

So I have to lay in bed for the next few weeks.. you say trying not to roll your eyes... 

"Yes, good thing you have a loving husband.. You will need to either have your students come to the house, or you will need to cancel all appointments.." she says as she gets ready to teleport.. 

Thank you.. You say smiling and rubbing your belly.. 

"Have a good day, if you need anything please..let me know. I will come check on you every other day.. " She says as she teleports away.. 

You look at Severus and sigh.. I will not just sit here.. I will only have my scheduled sessions, then I will go home.. I will teleport instead of walk. And I will try to stay seated as long as possible." 

"(Y/N).."

Severus.. I can't stay home! It will drive me nuts!

"I know, I will just be watching you all the time.." He says rubbing his forehead.. 

You giggle, and crawl further in the bed.. but when you close your eyes.. All you can see is Samuel.. and it breaks your heart... 

"Dear.. are you ok?" he says, noticing that you look like you are fixing to cry.. 

When I  close my eyes, I relive it.. I know it's going to take time, I know.. But it's so hard.. 

"Well soon, we will be having the little boy he wanted to save..Let's try to be thankful. I know it's really hard..." He says crawling in the bed and holding you.. as you let the tears flow..
