Prolouge

(a/n next chapter will be the start of the present...I hope you know what I'm talking about-)

Authors pov:

"I'm gonna be the water hashira!" Sabito yelled

Giyuu nodded happily supporting his friend

"What about you, Yuu?" Sabito looked at giyuu

Giyuu thought for a second then said "I don't care what happened in the future...., I just wanna be with you.. til we get old..." giyuu smiled.

"That actually sounds like a proposal- oh well that's not a dream" sabito grumbled a bit

"To me..it is.." giyuu looked at the stars "I don't wanna be alone.....again.." he smiled sadly

Sabito looked at giyuu with awe

"...yuu...i-i...no...I love you. Go out with me" sabito grabbed giyuu's hand and looked deeply at his ocean eyes

"S-sabi...I..of course..I love you too" giyuu closed his eyes and attached their foreheads together

Sabito did the same and they both relaxed from the touch

Their teacher watched them and smiled underneath his mask "I hope nothing happens to those two.." he softly whispered to himself

It was the final selection and giyuu was injured and tired

Then he saw a demon with a lot of arms

'im gonna die I'm gonna die...' giyuu thought as he trembled

When the demons hand almost reach him it was sliced in half

"YUU, YOU IDIOT! DONT JUST STAND THERE AND RUN!" sabito looked at him fiercely

"S-sabi....." Giyuu looked at Sabito with tearful eyes

"No..dont cry..I didn't mean to yell..." Sabito tried to comfort giyuu

But then another hand jumped out of the ground and grabbed sabito

"SAbiI..!" Giyuu softly yelled

"I'm fine Yuu! Just go and run!" Sabito yelled trying to escape the grasp of the demon

Giyuu frozed 'no Sabi will die..and it's my fault'

"Run tomioka giyuu!" Sabito used his full name

Then sabito broke free of the demons grasp and tried to a cut the demons neck

The katana broke and his head was shattered

Then another guy came and grabbed giyuu

Giyuu's pov:

Everything is ringing...

I saw my best friend and boyfriend died...

Because I was weak.

He would have lived if I escaped and he didn't worry about me.

It's all my fault.
Why does this happen to me.
Am I bad luck
Di I do something wrong
If only I died.
If only I wasn't born
My sister would have her marriage
Sabito would lived and become a water hashira.
So......why am I here?
WHY DID THEY SAVE ME
WHY DIDN'T THEY LET ME DIE
WHY SHOULD I BE THE ONE LEFT
WHAT HAVE I DONE
WHAT DID I DO TO BE ALIVE RIGHT NOW
I LET MY SISTER AND BOYFRIEND DIE

I was awaked and I sat up to look around numbly

'whats even the point?' I thought

"You woke up! Here have some food! " A lady placed down rice balls and green tea

I bowed down silently and looked at it when she left

'do I even deserved this? ' again..negative thoughts flowed around me

Then I saw my teacher walked inside

"Eat." He ordered

I looked at him numbly

He sighed and I looked down

I bit my lips so I won't cry Infront of him

But I failed

"I don't...like..this" I sobbed and I bought my knees next to my chest

He walked towards me and hugged me

"Don't....p-pity me..sensei-" I sobbed more

"Sabito wouldn't like to see you in this state.. do you wanna be a bummer? Especially since he sacrificed his life just to see this? Your sister who protected you, yet you still cried....don't be weak! I didn't teach you that! What happened to the smart boy! The smart and always tries his best?!" My teacher grabbed my shoulders and made me to look at him

I looked down knowing he's right

"Leave me alone please..." I asked him

My teacher stood up and walked towards the door before stopping

"Sabito told me if he died that...you should keep on living and become the water hashira for his sake." He then closed the door

I broke down to tears

'thats right...I shouldn't cry.i won't be weak. Again...' I pinched myself so I won't feel sad but focused on the pain

Wait..
I can do that again if I'm sad...

I looked at the food and I began eating it
My tummy disliked it but I kept eating

That's then the plate was empty and I drank the green tea which my tummy likes

'i will become water hashira for you...sabito..' I thought
