Time raced around me like waves crashing over minuscule humans who entered their waters. I couldn't wait for Nene to free me, Darnell would be next to be injured. Who'd protect him if he was so busy protecting everyone else? He deserved rights, especially a right to life. I wouldn't let him take that away just because he was a possessive prick. I squirmed with a passion, Nene yelled out for me to stop struggling but I ignored her plea. I saw Pico's foot approach the gun as I went to grab for it.

However, He was just too slow. I grabbed the gun and aimed as the two men flailed. My shot wasn't great, Pico has only taken me to a shooting range a few times. Fortunately, It was helping a lot. I aimed with all my ability but them moving around was scaring me. "Keith, Take the shot." Nene told me with no hesitation in her voice. This was her full disclosure. I lined up my aim and shot on her commanded. May my bullet lodge itself in his leg.

The path the bullet traveled was scary at best and life-ending at worst. I watched as Pico cried out in pain from being shot in the stomach. Darnell winced as the bullet scathed his arm that was near Pico's stomach. Silence took over the area as Nene finally managed to get the bike chains off my ankles. I got up, faltering to stand and walked over to Pico. "Keith, Don't!" Darnell called out for me, holding his arm. Yet, I didn't bother listening. I crouched on the floor with him and held his in my lap.

"Nene. Go call the ambulance and check if the police are here. I'm staying with him." I stated, not really taking no as a response. she nodded and went to grab Senpai and dragging Darnell along with her. I watched them leave the storage unit, feeling the chill of consequences wash over me and him. It was just me and him. As normal, the guilt started to set in the longer I was alone with him. I turned my attention to him, he was stifling to breathe. I shoved off my shirt and ripped it to turn it into a wrap to stop the profuse stomach bleeding.

"Why?" He coughed out, confused as to why I'm stopping him from dying. I'm sure he thought it was because I loved him, which wouldn't be completely wrong but there were other reasons. "You can't die, not yet. You're gonna live to see me.. and the goddamn consequences of your actions." I said softly, tying the wrap tight, careful to not get so much blood on me. He chuckled, coughing more, feeling pain I was sure. "You know. I'm glad you stopped me, I'd hated having to kill Darnell." He spoke, putting a hand over mine on his stomach. I nodded, listening to him. "Do you hate me?" He asked, I breathed out the tension in my lungs. I shook my head.

"No. But you need to atone. You know that."  I spoke, feeling tears prick my eyes. He shivered slightly at the hard concrete he was placed on. "Would there ever be a chance for you to love me again, Blue?" He asked, gasping for a bit of air. He wasn't dying yet, but talking was hard. I nodded, "In another life, one where I don't get blackmailed and one where you got help sooner. Until that life arrives and buries everything in orange hue, please live out your punishment to wake up in a new life ready for us to meet again." I finished speaking, feeling a sense of melancholy. This was once my lover, and maybe he will be again in another life.

"Alright.. I love you." He says in a way that's so pathetic, it'd be a crime to not say it back. "I love you too." As soon as the sentence left my lips, I heard sirens from very far away I peeked outside to see red and blue flashing lights. They'd be running in here soon. "Go. You don't want them to see us like this, they'll try to blame you too." He rasped, letting go of my hand. I didn't bother  arguing and just got up and slowly walked out. I joined Nene who was sitting outside on her knees, cradling Senpai in her lap.

Eventually the cops and ambulance came, both Senpai and Pico were loaded in as the cops drove us to the station. We were all okay for the most part, aside from those two. I explained to the officers how I shot him out of self defense and the idea about Cherry's murder. They took statements from Nene as well and eventually let us leave. We all went back to her apartment, deciding to spend a few nights as 3 friends rather than be alone.
