they didn't have enough money for anything, they were both working part time jobs and struggling to support themselves and keep a roof over their heads.
even if they didn't have much, they had each other, and that was enough.

it left the young couple stressed; neither of them had gone to college, and were working horrible part time jobs.
they could barely pay rent.

he and his wife grew distant. he was working almost the entire day everyday with no breaks, making sure he was able to one day provide for their child.
