Chapter 16 | Complete

[Namjoon]

My body felt very heavy but there was a sort of lightness to it. There wasn't a part of my body that didn't ache. But it also felt like I had the best night's sleep. My eyelids, though, were heavy. Like they didn't want to open. Slowly but painfully, I was able to lift my heavy eyelids. The sight that greeted me was very odd. It was so white. Blinding even. There was a constant beeping which kind of made me very anxious. I looked around the room and saw that there was nearly nothing in the room. The thing that I was on was so comfy, it felt so different than sleeping on the floor in the cage.

The door opened and my eyes immediately darted over to the person who came in. I was tense but as soon as their scent wafted in, I relaxed. It was my mate. As soon as she saw me, she gave me a bright smile that I never wanted to disappear.

"How are you feeling?" She asked.

"In pain, tired but not at the same time, does that make sense?" I looked at her and she was listening very attentively to my words.

"I'd be surprised if you weren't," she nodded. "Your injuries were really bad. I was almost worried that you wouldn't make it."

"That bad?" I couldn't help but ask.

"Yeah," her brows were furrowed and she looked very worried. I knew I shouldn't but I felt really good knowing that she was worried about me. "We were lucky to get to you when we did. I don't want to imagine what your mates would have gone through had we been even 10 minutes too late."

"Thank you," I was very genuine and I hoped she could hear it in my voice. Unintentionally I placed my hand on hers. She looked up at me with large eyes that seemed shocked that I would do something like that. But much to my disappointment, she quickly recoiled her hand away from my hold and hid it behind her back.

"No problem, your mates were waiting for you to wake up. I'll let them know that you're awake," she quickly said before rushing out of the room.

I didn't know how long I just looked at the door. But it opened again and the familiar and loving scent of my mates filled the room. They all rushed towards me, well, all except Yoongi.

"Hyung!"
"You're awake!"
"Are you doing okay?"

The three youngest asked at the same time. I chuckled as I gave them pats on all of their heads. "I'm fine."

"You don't look fine," Yoongi pointed out. "It was Y/N-ssi wasn't it?"

"Does she know?" I couldn't help but ask.

Hoseok shook his head. "We didn't have an opportunity to talk to her about it. Not to mention, she seems to be purposefully avoiding us." At that Jungkook's ears flopped sadly.

"I don't know what we did wrong," Jungkook said sadly.

Yoongi chuckled. "You are so cute," he shook his head lovingly.

"What do you mean, hyung?" Taehyung asked, his eyebrows rising so high that they became hidden from his bangs.

"I think she feels an attraction to us, but because she's engaged-"

"She's engaged?" I growled. It was something that I couldn't help. It annoyed me and it made me angry to know that there was another person putting their hands on my mate.

"Hold it you possessive dragon," Hoseok laughed as he teased me.

"Anyway, like I was saying," Yoongi threw me an annoyed glance since I cut him off. "Because she's engaged, she's trying not to give into the attraction. She loves her fiance- stop growling Namjoon- she doesn't want to ruin her relationship with him-"

"But she should," I couldn't help myself from saying. "She's our mate. She's supposed to be with us."

"If you just waited a little bit longer, Yoongi hyung would have told you that her fiance is also our mate," Hoseok shook his head. 

My brain stopped working at that moment. We had another mate?

"Oh," that was the only thing I was able to get out after hearing the news.

Taehyung and Jimin snickered. "'Oh' he says," teased Taehyung. "I think you broke him hyung."

"Shut it," I narrowed my eyes at him, but still smiling.

"He seems to like our company and was trying really hard to Y/N-ssi to join us when we're eating and just lounging around, but Y/N-ssi always seemed so busy," Hoseok relayed to me.

"So why haven't we told them that they're mated to us?" I asked.

"They're human," Jungkook said, but it looked as if he was just rehearsing something that he heard.

"So?" I growled, unable to stop myself.

"So," Yoongi stressed, "they don't have a full understanding of mates. It's a miracle that they found each other and formed a bond that made them want to get married, without knowing that they are each other's mate."

"But her brother is mated to hybrids," Taehyung piped up.

"Wait, what?" We all turned to look at Taehyung as if he grew 10 heads.

"Don't you remember?" Taehyung turned to Jimin and Jungkook. "The ferret hybrid told us that his sister-in-law was in charge of Namjoon."

"That's right!" Jimin exclaimed with a bright smile.

"Right, and we all saw Y/N's brother-" Taehyung said, proud that he was able to remember that small detail from when they were being rescued and were in a state of adrenaline.

"Is a human," Hoseok completed the rest of Taehyung's sentence with a relieved smile.

At the revelation, we all smiled. 

"So since we know that she's perfectly fine with hybrid and human relationships, we talk to her and her fiance about it," Yoongi shrugged as if there was no problem. "And since Mr. Possessive here woke up, we'll be able to do it as a full pack."

I smiled, and a satisfying hum came from my chest. Our pack would be complete, finally.
