"IF SOMEONE hands you a crying baby, do you, A. curse it? B. lock it in a tower? C. give it a bottle? Or D. carve out its heart?" Fairy Godmother asked us all while I was reading a book under the desk, seated behind Mal
E lifted her hand high up. "Evie!"
"What was the second one?" She asked, and our teacher ignored her question.
"Oh. Okay. Anyone else? Mal?" Godmother pointed.
Mal raised her head up, swirling a strand of hair around her hand. "C, give it a bottle."
"Correct, again." The Fairy smile proudly.
"You are on fire, girl!" Carlos exclaimed and I snickered, shoulders shaking.
"Just pick the one that doesn't sound like any fun." M shrugged like it was obvious, and it was.
"Oh..."
"Ah... That makes so much sense." Evie commented, then a girl entered the room, walking towards the front while squealing past us. I giggled with a wicked grin.
"Hello, dear one." She bent down to eye-level with the young girl.
"Hi. You need to sign off on early dismissal for the coronation." She mumbled, glancing back at us and pushing her clipboard into Godmother's hand. I'm gonna make a quick assumption that this girl was scared of us, and she had the right to be.
"Everyone here remembers my daughter, Jane?" The headmistress reminded us, signing the form
"Mom, no!" Jane whispered.
"It's okay. Jane, this is everyone." She pushed her forwards to us.
"Hi. That's okay, don't mind me, as you were." Jane gestured and left the room, but not before squealing passed again.
The woman in periwinkle cleared her throat, "Let's continue. You find a vial of poison. Do you, A. put it in the kin's wine? B. paint it on an apple? Or C, turn it over to the proper authorities?"
The three others lifted their hands up, itching to say the answer. My brother grabbed Carlos' hand, holding it down. "Jay." She said, pointing her stick at him.
"C. You turn it over to the proper authorities." J replied, throwing away his wrist.
Carlos slapped his shoulder with a sigh. "I was gonna say that!"
"But I said it first!" Jay shouted in his face, moved an arm around his neck and rubbing the top of his head harshly. "Come here! Come on, who said it first? Who said it first?"
"Stop!" Carlos yelled, and Fairy Godmother hit her stick against her podium.
"Boys. Boys!"
They froze and looked up at her. "I am gonna encourage you to use that energy on the tourney field." The headmistress pointed outside the window.
"Oh, no. That's okay... Whatever that is, w-we'll pass." Carlos shook his head, shoving Jay off him.

I was at my locker, emptying out my bag, when Ben leaned on the metal doors beside me. "Hey."
"Hi?" I furrowed my brows, chucking my textbook in.
"You're Jay's sister, right?" He asked, wearing a blue professional blazer.
"Same father, different mother. Why? What's up with him?" I chuckled, closing the door and locking it back.
"He was at the Tourney tryouts and he...doesn't seem to be the biggest team player." Ben shrugged, hands folded in front of him.
"Yup, sounds just like him." I nodded my head with a smirk.
