Author's Note:
This chapter does mention when and how Clarke was kidnapped, as well as a few things that happened to her, and witnessed, when she was taken. I guess trigger warnings to grooming, murder, abuse, and kidnappings. So a lot, but that's all for this one!

The progress that Clarke makes is slow going, but it was progress nonetheless. Whatever win her doctors could take they would get. Her physical injuries healed steadily, but it was her mental state they worried them the most- especially her mother. After hearing of Bellamy refusing to follow the visitation restrictions she had put in place, she attempted to have him removed from the small list of people allowed to see Clarke all together, however that was where Jackson put his foot down. Had it not been for Bellamy intervening when he had Clarke's episode would have been much, much, worse. From one friend to another Jackson talked Abby down from revoking his visitations, and after a long, long, conversation, he was successful. Not without struggle of course.
As Clarke healed she became more aware of her surroundings which was astounding progress in her mental state of mind. Such progress led her to have certain power over her situation, leading Bellamy to visit whenever he pleased. The Griffin women fought about the issue for several days but eventually Abby caved and accepted her daughter's decision. It wouldn't do her any good to argue with Clarke so soon after her rescue. Their relationship was on thin ice already, and Abby had to be careful of what issues she did push before Clarke decided to have nothing to do with her at all.
It was this thought alone that the older woman moved on from the issue and let the man into her daughter's hospital room. Not that she could stop him when he flashed his badge, but she did try in the beginning.
Each day passed with more hope for Clarke's recovery, not only making it easier for her to make her own medical decisions but for other important matters at hand. Once Jackson gave Bellamy the official all clear on her state of mind to be questioned he allowed a trusted officer to conduct a small interview. His questions focus solely on furthering their investigation against Cage Wallace.
While they had physical evidence of his crimes it wasn't enough to put him away for good. They needed more- a confession. And the witness statements from his victims would push their investigation in the right direction. Octavia gave Miller all the information she could over the last week. Although Bellamy was the lead detective on the case, he couldn't question his little sister. So he instructed his partner.
Miller questioned Octavia over a series of days, both for her convenience and to not push too far too soon. Something Bellamy worried about when it came to Clarke. According to his sister the blonde endured abuse far worse than she did, and for much longer. The scars left on Clarke's sanity and mind would affect her for years to come, if not the rest of her life. To question her not even a full week after her rescue may be too soon. But the more time they wasted, the more time Cage had to cover his tracks. Leaving Bellamy with few options but to approve the interview of questions. But only by an officer of his choosing.
Officer Atom was one of the few Bellamy trusted and he was tasked not only to watch over Octavia but take shifts watching Clarke at the hospital as well. Which is why he was chosen; however, that didn't mean Clarke trusted him. For the last hour he has tried to talk to her and ask about what happened to her after she was taken. But every time she spoke she stuttered and struggled to speak in full sentences. Even with her mother by her side she couldn't open up about her experience.
"Ma'am I know this is hard but I need to know everything that happened in that house." Clarke bites down on her lower lip and taste the copper in her blood. Her sign to lighten up and turn away to fidget with her hands. A sign that doesn't go unnoticed by her Doctor mother.
