Alcohol wasn't good for your brain and body, I knew that, and as a lawyer, I really needed my braincells. For that reason, drinking alcohol was something I rarely did.

But here, under the neon lights, with the music pounding my brain full of nothing, the temptation of driving was very... Well, tempting. Victoria pushed a drink into my hand. I glanced down at it, sniffed. Ah, a dirty martini. I shrugged off my concerns, and gave in to that temptation.

I poured the delicious drink down my throat, and Victoria chuckled. She had her lips by my ear so I could hear as she spoke. "That's the spirit!" She encouraged me, with a bright smile. She was on her third drink. You had to yell in each other's ear to be able to hear one another. Frustrating, really, but eh. It is what it is.

We danced together, drinking and then drinking more. I did control myself somewhat though, as I didn't trust myself when I was drunk. Vic on the other hand went crazy. It was funny, I actually laughed pretty much as we danced. This wasn't that bad - I had needed this. Just letting go.

Vic locked eyes with some guy. He was rather decent looking, in my opinion. Luckily we didn't have the same taste in men - only when someone was seriously hot.

They smirked at each other, but she stayed with me, although I could almost see the pull in her, wanting to go over to the guy.

Eventually, I had enough. I rolled my eyes.

"Just go over to him, I know you want to," I said to her, and she looked at me, a little surprised, but then her face lit up in joy. But then she furrowed her brows, sending me a worried look. "But I can't just leave you alone - you're finally out partying, so I won't just leave," She replied, but I just chuckled.

"I'm a grown woman, Vic. I won't mind," I assured her, and after asking me yet again if I was sure, and I said yes, she hurried away with a bright smile. I followed her with my gaze as she walked over to the guy. They talked a little, and then danced together. He had dirty blonde hair, very dirty blonde, and just a few freckles across his nose and cheeks - I could only barely see them in those crazy ass lights.

I sipped of my drink, turning my attention elsewhere to give them privacy. But I had seen the way they grinded against each other, though. Vic had a habit of getting into one night stands, but she didn't mind at all. She enjoyed it quite a lot. She always said she just hadn't met the one yet; one she would stay with.

That was fair. I understood that.

I downed my drink, and placed the empty cup on some random table. I moved into a mass of people dancing, thinking what the hell, might as well have fun now that I'm here. I danced, letting my body move to the rhythm of of the loud music. The music, making me unable to think, the lights blinding me, the alcohol flowing through me, all combined, made me forget about everything and everyone around me. Nothing mattered but the dance floor, the music, my body moving.

It felt amazing. I had really needed this. I suddenly felt very grateful for Vic; I really needed someone to drag my ass out to have fun now and then. Without her, I would probably have become a depressed, stress mess by now.

I felt a hand on my waist from behind, but it somehow felt far away. I was really lost in my little world of ecstacy. I felt a breath against my ear, my neck. It tickled, leaving goosebumps. "Your body looks wonderful moving like that, doll." A deep, dark voice whispered in my ear. Holy shit.
