2 | my grishaverse dream

No one asked for this yet I'm here to deliver it because maybe someone wants it?? I don't know but here it is. :P

Despite the fact that I've only been in the Grishaverse fandom for about six months, it's become my comfort universe because it's helped me through a very tough period of my life. Two days ago, I had one of those days where my brain was like "no thoughts, just Grishaverse" (I blame how ✨ anxious ✨ I was that day) but that also meant my dream that night was Grishaverse-inspired and honestly I'm still flabbergasted at the stuff my brain came up with. Because of that, I'm using a bunch of reaction memes featuring the cast... it's only appropriate.

I mentioned on my message board that I dreamt that the official trailer for season 2 of Shadow and Bone came out, and I partially blame this clip of Kit Young I found saying that episode 6 was his favourite and upon being asked to sum it up in one word he said "emotional", and I spent a good portion of the day trying to deduce what that meant. The joys of being an overthinker 🤠 The setting and context of the dream itself was incredibly niche, with my dad having gone to the mosque for Ishaa (the fifth daily prayer in Islam) and my mum, brother and I in the lounge waiting to pray while my other brother was asleep. (That's a typical evening for us.) There was a Rugby League game on TV and randomly the trailer came on as an intermission and my dream self was like

I was ECSTATIC but at the same time I was like "wait it doesn't come out until 2023 WHY ARE WE GETTING THE TRAILER IN OCTOBER" because Netflix only releases trailers about 3-4 weeks before the film/show comes out.

Anyways from what I remember I was freaking out as I watched the trailer while Mum just sat there judging me, but my brother suddenly wasn't in the room?? He just?? Disappeared?? I probably scared him with the way I lost my mind. I don't remember much from the subconscious manifestation of the trailer except for two specific scenes: one from the S&B plot and the other from the SoC plot.

They showed Mal and Alina meeting Sturmhond for the first time and I was like "wait why is Patrick Gibson Sturmhond??" It's like my brain was projecting my fear of not seeing Sturmhond this season and my dream self was FURIOUS at the fact that they didn't attempt to change Patrick's appearance for Sturmhond because the scene where he reveals that he's actually the Prince of Ravka is iconic. THIS BETTER NOT BE A SIGN.

Anyways the next scene I remember seeing was the Crows arriving in front of Hellgate to break Matthias out, but they arrived in a boat like THIS

SOMEHOW THEY ALL FIT EVEN THOUGH IT WAS TINY.

Anyways so they arrive in front of Hellgate and they get out of their tiny boat, but Wylan doesn't come out straight away. He just stands there in the middle of the boat clutching his little satchel bag with all his demo stuff and makes it abundantly clear that he doesn't want to kill anyone. EVEN IN MY SLEEP I WAS LIKE

I was so impressed with how my subconscious still stayed true to Wylan's character, especially since this season takes place before SoC and they'll probably play on the idea that he "wasn't a Crow yet" (I explain this in my previous rant), because he's very morally-driven: we see this a lot in book one, such as when he yelled at Kaz for throwing Oomen overboard because my boy will GLADLY BREAK THE LAW WITHOUT QUESTION BUT HE WON'T TOLERATE IMMORALITY. Then I think my brain is desperate to see Wylan and Jesper on screen together, so Jesper proceeded to make fun of Wylan's morality like "bro you're with us and you've agreed to break the law which means you'll probably have to kill someone sorry merchling" and I was so impressed with my sleeping subconscious for sticking to the spirit of the source material. That's the most Wesper thing I've seen in my life and the memes could never.

So yeah.

If any of these rock up in the trailer or in the actual season... thank my sleeping self.
