" I still look at you as if you put the stars into the sky."

The room feels much smaller than usual. Like there is something outside pressing against the windows, aching to come in. Maybe it is the noise. It is probably the noise. Tap. Tap. Tap. A thousand, million taps at once.

The language of water.

And yet, the air inside seems distilled, or about to be so. It is heavy. Hanging

She quickly shut down the widows of her room and the door of her balcony and pulled the curtains, laid on her bed, and pulled the quilt till her head feeling scared of thunder and lightning, wishing this to end quickly, wishing the sun to rise quickly

Suddenly she heard a noise, she jerked and held the quilt tightly, she held the noise again, she slowly removed the quilt and got down from the bed, she could see a figure behind the door of her balcony

She moved towards the balcony's door, and then she heard a faint whisper

" Aadya... " it didn't take a second for her to realize who was the person behind the door

" Aadav!" she quickly opened the door to let him come

" What are you doing here? " She asked while he removed his jacket and came closer to her

" Happy birthday! " He looked into her eyes and kissed her forehead, A smile appeared on her face

" You came here just to wish me in this rain? "

" Yes " He ruffed her hair

" I would do anything for you "Her heart skipped multiple beats

" Afterall you are my best friend "The smile on her face slowly started to vanish

' Why can't they be more than just friends ? ' she wanted to ask him

She wanted to say that she can't be his friend anymore, she wanted to say she couldn't do this anymore she-

" Amma!, I want this keychain " a cute voice brought her back from her past

" Parkavi, I will get the same for you but right now come with me. " a lady in her early thirties who happens to be the child's mother said, the little girl pouted at her mother's reply.

" No! I want this now! " She pointed at Aadya's keychain,

" Do you want this? " Aadya asked removing the keychain from her bag.

" Yes! " She smiled at the little girl and held her hand

" Then here, take it. " She gave her the keychain.

It was one of the gifts from him, it was a cute shinchan keychain, she still remembers the way he teased her for loving shinchan at this age.

" Come closer " the little girl in front of her said. The little kid whose name is Parkavi kissed her cheeks, and a huge smile escape from Aadya's lips.

" Bye," she waved her hands at Aadya before going back to her mother.

Aadya turned her gaze from the kid after she left with a smile on her face, she felt happy for a strange reason but soon it was replaced by suffocation when she saw his gift for her birthday,

' Asshole! '  She had a sudden urge to throw his gift on his face and slap him for not caring about her nor saying a single wish to her.

It was always him who wished her first, it was him who made her happy, it was him who made her feel like she is the luckiest girl alive, and again it was him who made her sad.

' Happy birthday kanmani!! ' Her hand caressed her nickname that was written on the gift, her hands were itching to open the gift. She unwrapped the wrapper patiently so that the wrapper wouldn't damage as she had a habit of saving the gift wrapper.

She frowned as she saw the wooden box in front of her, she opened the wooden box and was surprised to find letters, well this is new to her. She picked a letter which was in the front and was written zero on it. She opened and read.

" Everyone around me asked the reason but I wanted you to know the reasons first.

The reasons why began to have feelings for her. "
