AN AU IN WHICH... the upside down does not exist. nancy is dating steve, and steve remains the most popular at hawkins high. jonathan, on the other hand, is the social outcast, a freak. hated for being awkward and quiet. steve's friends bully jonathan relentlessly, and steve always stands by. wanting to help.
however, one fateful day, he's dared to send the school freak love letters.

i. this is strictly about the characters from netflix's stranger things. while charlie heaton and joe keery portray both jonathan byers and steve harrington, this is in no way shipping the actors. the characters belong to netflix and the duffer brothers.
ii. this will most likely be a slow burn. these two will share an enemies to lovers dynamic, similar to how they are in the show. i will try my best to avoid these two falling head over heels immediately.
