Yikes, I was looking back through my chapters and realized it's been a while since we went back to Izuku, so here you go!! Enjoy!

_______

As Izuku prepared to leave, folding his blankets and tidying up the area, the girl and her family returned. "Here," the mother said, holding out a small bag. "To get you started. It's not much, but I hope you will find it useful."

Izuku looked at the gift with surprise, taking it gently into his hands. "Oh - wow! Thank you so much, you have no idea how much this means to me!" He could barely contain his appreciation from spilling out in the form of his signature geyser-like tears. He bowed deeply, thanking them a few more times, before he said his goodbyes. The family gathered at the doorway to send him off, and he waved enthusiastically at them as he left.

As he walked, he peered into the bag they had given him and found a carefully wrapped sandwich and a handful of small pieces of metal, which he assumed was the nation's currency. He'd have to learn their value if he was going to avoid being scammed. With so little in the way of possessions and money, he couldn't afford to lose what few things he had been given. He had to stretch it out as far as possible.

But first, shelter. He wasn't really sure where to start, but...

Izuku's train of thought came to an abrupt halt as he spotted some sort of inane creature pulling a carriage down the road. It looked like a mix between an ostrich and a horse, stitched together by the hands of Satan himself, and Izuku couldn't help the little woah that came out of him. Because. Woah.

He watched it pass by, then immediately began hypothesizing. What would have caused the animals here to evolve so differently, yet retain the same defining characteristics of the animals back home? The history of this universe must align with most of the major events of his own if life was to evolve here so similarly. After all, people still existed, although they did look more plain than those back home - speaking of, did quirks even exist here? People didn't seem to have any mutations here, but maybe they still had emitter-type quirks.

Izuku couldn't help but get a little excited, even despite the burning worry that churned in his stomach. There was so much new information to be discovered here - different cultures, ways of life, not to mention the science and history! Here was a chance to learn so much more about the universe, like the fact that multiple existed. Or maybe this was just a different planet?

Izuku gulped. Just like that, his excitement vanished. His thoughts were putting into perspective just how unreachable Japan was, different universe or not. Finding a way back home was seeming more and more impossible with every passing second.

He had no one and nothing here to help him. No way to contact home, no leads on anything that could help him, not even someone to talk to. Everyone was a stranger. He didn't understand why he was chosen for this, for such an insurmountable task, without any sort of understanding as to how or why.

He sighed heavily, trying to focus on the problem at hand. He was supposed to be finding somewhere to stay, not lamenting the absolutely terrible hand that life had dealt him. Izuku glanced around, deciding to target someone who looked...friendly, he guessed. Spotting a kind-looking woman on the side of the road, he approached her.

"Excuse me," Izuku said, tilting his head so he was in the woman's line of sight, "I'm new around here, and was wondering if you could point me towards somewhere to stay?"

"Oh, of course!" Izuku felt a wave of relief as she responded positively. "I'd say the best inn is a few blocks away, straight ahead and to the left once you reach that turn," she pointed a few stops down, "but if you're looking for a more affordable option, you'd have to go that way." She pointed the opposite opposite direction. "Four buildings down, straight ahead."
