I walk into the house after a long day of work. I kick off my heels putting them on the edge of the stairs to carry up later on.
What a way to spend my birthday weekend which is upcoming. Boss making me work until 7 instead of 4
I call out my husband of 2 years. "D where you at i'm home love!" I barely was able to stretch my voice out.
I walk into the kitchen grabbing a glass of ice water before chugging it and walking back upstairs.
As I was midway across the stairs I hear a noise coming from up further across the stairs. I freeze
"D! you up there?! this ain't funny" I yelled as I slowly continued up the stairs.
Before I reached the top I picked up phone ringing Dejounte's number.
It connected after a while "babe are you home?" i ask s little shaken "no bae i'm out with the boys is everything okay?" he asks worried
"no baby its fine go hang out with your friends" i say trying to sound okay.
"baby are sure?! you sound a bit scared" he says. "I am completely okay baby don't worry ok love you bye." I say but before i could hangup
"love you? what happened to the i?" my husband says with sass. I chuckle a little bit mentally asking myself why we got married
"i love you D" i say playfully. "I luh you too mama imma be home soon so we can go get your parents together" he says and hangs up
i groaned remembering my parents are coming in at 10pm for my birthday this Sunday.
I finally reach the end of the stairs and walk into me and D's master bedroom. I dropped my stuff on the bed putting my heels back in the closet.
i walk into the bathroom and take makeup wipes and remove all the makeup that I mostly sweat off earlier.
I started playing music when I hear a noise again and this time I know it's not D because he's out with the boys. I mentally face palmed myself
you shoulda just told him to come home while he offered.
I walk slowly back into the bedroom and grab the closest object that was harmful. A lamp
I walk towards the balcony where the sound was coming from and opened it quickly backing up as I did.
I slowly peeked out seeing absolutely nothing.
maybe your just tired.
I sighed and closed the door locking it putting the lamp back down and going back into the bathroom stripping of all my clothes and hopping in the shower.
I finished did my skincare and put on something comfy but not my pajamas because I still need to pick my parents up.

I threw my curly hair that was now wet into a slick high ponytail slicking my edges along with it.
I picked up my phone and heard the noise YET. A. GAIN. This time i knew i wasn't paranoid.
I walked downstairs and go all the way into the backyard to see something dark by the tree.
It was dark outside and the house lights hadn't come on yet.
I ran back in the house grabbing the biggest knife we had and slowly walked back out.
"AYE! whoever you are you need to get gone before I call the cops!" I yelled out
The next thing I know I was blindfolded and picked up. this is definitely where i die, its been nice knowing y'all.
I screamed and kicked as loud and as hard as I could. Before hearing laughs that were fairly familiar.
I was put down and the blindfold was taken off.
"SUPRISEEE!!!" As soon I as opened my eyes all my friends and loved ones were there standing in front of cute decor with the numbers 25.
I bend down and laugh as I see everyone crowding me to hug me and wish me an early happy birthday.
i see my parents come and shove the small crowd "are you kidding me?!" i shrieked excitedly "you guys are already here!!" I said hugging them
"you know we couldn't miss this special suprise baby" my mom said kissing my forehead.
Music started playing people started pouring drinks and I saw no signs of my husband. Weird.
I suddenly feel arms wrap around my waist and familiar lip kisses going down my neck.
I playfully shoved him off me. "you are not funny." I say trying to keep a straight face
he chuckles and grabs my waist pulling me close to his body. "happy early 25th mama hope this was okay" he says pecking my lips
"you play too much" I say playfully shoving him. "yo fine ass took so long to come out the house I had to do sum!" he says proudly
"so blindfolding me and 'kidnapping me is the way to go?" i say with a smile
"thank you for the early birthday present but why is it so early?" i ask as we swayed to the music beat
"because after what I do to you tonight you are gonna need to recover for Sunday because we are just getting started." he whispers in my ear slapping and grabbing my ass. After he walked away with a wink
I mouthed a "you indeed are a child" And enjoyed the rest of my night.
