Camp Life, Day 1

Nadine stared up at the stars peaking above the treetops, hands resting behind her head. She was exhausted but couldn't bring herself to sleep. Chloe had passed out immediately, snoring softly, curled up on her side, back to Nadine.

Suddenly Chloe jerked, twisting onto her back and swiftly sitting up, gasping for breath.

"You ok, Frazer?"

"Fine," she mumbled, lying back down and wrapping her arm around Nadine, her breathing evening out again.

"Frazer?"

She was already asleep again, if she had even been awake in the first place.

Nadine sighed, trying to not think about how good it felt to feel some physical contact. It had been a long time since anyone had touched her, much less cuddled with her. It was practical, she tried to tell herself, to huddle together for warmth in the cool jungle air.

She never wanted it to end.
