Chapter 13: Hitachiin Boys

~ A month later~

*Hotaru's POV*

The Ouran Fair is back for the 43rd time. I have been to these since I was in elementary school, every single one. But this year it was going to be different, I was here as a part of the Host Club, speed drawing different guests with their hosts or their parents. We are now setting up for the opening ceremony, to fit in with the theme of the entire place. Tamaki and Kyoya have me wearing an artist apron and I am drawing on an easel for everyone rather than my sketchpad.

"Uh. Aren't school fairs meant to be, I don't know, more about students proudly showcasing unique things that they've made by hand?" Haruhi asks. "Perhaps for a mere average school, yes. But at Ouran, the emphasis is on planning and leadership skills. Keep in mind, most of our students are being groomed into positions of leadership, so they're required to showcase a talent for upward mobility, not arts-and-crafts" Kyoya explains.

"I guess that makes a little sense," Haruhi says. Kyoya sighs. "Take the triplets for example. The boys will most likely take over the business aspect of their father's business, while Hotaru will also take part in the leadership but with her talent for designing might be working more hand on with their staff, with the boys sewing and producing her designs. Their parents already know their talents in the case of the arts, so their parents want to see more of the business aspect out of them" Kyoya explains.

"Ok, that makes a lot more sense," Haruhi says. At that moment A carriage is driven right on the sidewalk near my painting easel. "Hey! Watch it!" I shout. "Sorry Hotaru!" I hear Hikaru shout. "Hikaru?" I ask confused. I walk around to the side of the carriage to see Hikaru driving and Mori in the passenger seat. "You let my brother drive this thing? Are you insane?" I chuckle.

All of us hosts get into the carriage, and we are strolling through the halls of the school getting fawned over by all the girls. "Hey, you know, you've gotten pretty good at this." Kaoru says to Hikaru. "Yea Hikaru never knew you had a secret talent for controlling horses" I chuckle. "There's nothing to it, you should've practiced Kaoru. Also, thanks Firefly, I guess it is a secret talent" Hikaru chuckles.

"Well just because we are triplets doesn't mean we all have to have the same interests" Kaoru says. This is the first time that Hotaru wasn't scared to have something that divides her from her brothers. Before she would've hated that Hikaru was doing something that her and Kaoru didn't know how to do. But after meeting and actually getting to know the hosts, she wasn't scared, she wasn't alone anymore. Especially since now she had Mori.

While on the carriage the bell on the clock chimes and signals that the opening fair had started so we all made our way back over to the front of the school to welcome guests into the fair.

There was beautiful orchestra music playing, and people dancing, it was just as I remembered it. Everything was beautiful. We are all inside once again charming the guests while I am working on my current guest's piece when I see my mother and father walk in. "Mother! Father!" I cheer, running over and hugging them. "Oh Hikaru! You have startled us" My mother says. I have to admit that stung, just like any other time someone does that, but it stings more that my own parents can tell the difference between us.

My brothers walk over and join us as well. "My Hotaru, you have found our parents splendid," Kaoru laughs. "Oh, I'm so sorry Hotaru! I thought you were Hikaru" my mother says, apologetically. "It's alright mother! Are you enjoying the fair so far?" I ask. "Yes, it is quite marvelous just like every other year" My father says.

*3rd POV*

As the triplets are over talking to their parents, Haruhi, Kyoya, and Tamaki are all discussing Tamaki's spending but something else gets onto Haruhi's mind. She had seen Hotaru's interactions with her mother. "Hey? Are the triplets' parents always like that? Not able to tell the difference between their children?" Haruhi asks.
