She glared defiantly back up at the star-studded ebony sky and thought bitterly of how despite her loathing for them, she echoed their inevitable plight.
No wish would save her. No thing could reignite her.
She was fading.
The spot on her back itched.
A constant reminder she failed.
A constant reminder she's not good enough.
A constant reminder she never would be.
