Double Edge Sword (Soukoku)

.Chapter 9.

"Sorry, boss. We couldn't find him... "The red-haired male glanced down, he dare not look up at his boss's eyes.

After the argument, Chuuya didn't come back 2 days later.  Dazai ordered a search group to find the ginger but to no avail. Dazai even went out himself to find Chuuya but it seems that the ginger went into hiding. Dazai was devastated by this news. It has been a week already. Despite getting worried,  Dazai trusted that Chuuya was alright and will come back. To Dazai's disappointment, Chuuya didn't come back and he stopped the search groups after 5 months.

"Bring him back alive and unharmed if you see him. " was Dazai's order. It wasn't that he didn't want to continue to search for Chuuya,  it was just that the port mafia's enemies increased and Dazai had to assign more missions to his members. Chuuya was not seen for 2 years and Dazai's hope was starting to shatter. He knew that Chuuya was strong and could defend himself but the thing that Dazai was scared of was that Chuuya would use corruption and he wasn't there to stop him in time. He was confident that Chuuya wouldn't use it but there was still a slim chance that he may. Tjat haunted him every night and Dazai wasn't getting sleep. He passed out during a meeting before. Obviously,  everyone panicked but they all sighed in relief when Kouyou ensured that he was fine. Howeve, after that incident, Oda kept an eye on what Dazai did so as for that to not happen again. Sadly,  Oda never thought about at night, he only thought about during the day. That resulted in Dazai knocking out in his own office and no one knew. When Oda went to check on Dazai,  he had the shock of his life when he saw the brunette on the floor. He was expecting to have Dazai conplaining about his day. It was Kouyou who suspected that Dazai didn't have enough sleep. She tried to convince Dazai to sleep and she preeicted it was because of Chuuya so she couldn't do much. She knew giving pills wirh his food wasn't a good idea because Dazai would know and throw it out the window for all she knows. She wasn't going to trust that man easily,  he can starve himself and would probably die. It was Kouyou's job to take care of the boss and protect him. She was determined to accomplish her job so she would even force feed Dazai if she needed to. Thankfully for her (and  Dazai), Dazai cooperated with Kouyou and madr sure to not worry her. That lady was so observant that she coukd even realise if you lost an eyebrow, literally and figuratively. Dazai did try to trick her but she would see through every one of them. From darker eye circles, to even weaker punches. Despite Kouyou's strict monitoring,  that helped kept Dazai from getting sick an unwell. He was grateful to her because if that but he didn't admit that. However,  Kouyou knew and she was happy to know.

Those few years were slow and dreadful but Dazai managed but he started breaking down when he tried attacking the ADA after 2 years.

As Dazai  pointed his gun at Naomi, his finger hovering over the trigger, he shot. However, much to his surprise, his bullet was stopped halfway in mind air, a red glow surrounding it. His eyes widened when he saw a figure emerge from all the smoke and dust. "Chuuya..." Dazai mumbled to himself as Chuuya only gave a glare before chasing all the port mafia members out of the ADA office. Knowing they couldn't win, Dazai decided to retreat. Before he left, he looked back at the ginger who was in the air, looking down at him. 

"No hard feelings!" Chuuya exclaimed before disappearing.
