The Earth and the people started off harmonious,
working together to survive.
But overtime the humans began to betray the Earth.
They built giant factories that poisoned her lungs.
Destroyed forests and oceans,
damaging her soul.
The people didn't mean to hurt the Earth,
but they did and now she's broken and dying.
And there is nothing anyone can do to bring her back to her original state.
They took too long to realize the damage they were causing.
And I suppose in someways our story is similar to theirs.
I am the Earth and you are the people.
You believed your words and actions showed me love,
but all they did was hurt me, break me,
and now I too am dying.
Not physically but emotionally.
And just like the people you took too long to realize the damage you had done.
Now you're trying to piece me back together,
but just like the Earth, I'm too far gone.
