there was always a balance between you and Shuri she would need help on the design of the outfits she was working on to make them more practical yet she needed it to look good at the same time yes she was good at making them on her own but she felt like she could do better.
who better to ask than you a fashion designer for Wakanda Shuri would send you examples of the fabrics vibrant for the suit and you would draw sew and pin testing the extent of the fabrics and correcting her little mistakes of proportion or areas that didn't need too much or areas that need more protection.
sometimes she watched you work from the computer to the hologram or when she watched you so intently when you doodled it onto paper shading and coloring the details onto the paper the light from the windows hitting your face perfectly the colors of the stained glass painting a picture on anything that was in its path.
you always seemed to be in a world of your own when it came to your work that's probably why you hadn't realized she'd walked in and sat down on your chair as you stood staring at the hologram in the middle of the room.
"Is it done?" Shuri spoke startling you and making you slightly jump then turning to face Shuri "how long have you been there?" you asked, "not long just...ten minutes".
"well as you are here this is okay?" you say pointing at the hologram she doesn't say anything just walks over to it moving her arm out to turn the hologram "you know its okay if you don't like it I can start again if you want- I wasn't fully sure on the patterning or the colors on the highlights- maybe I should start again-".
you're cut off by your rambling when Shuri grabs your hands "it's perfect, would you like to join me in the lab and watch the technology make your design become a reality".

The stroll to the lab was quiet yet calming all the technology you're surrounded by was breathtaking even though you've seen it before Shuri kept sparing glances towards you as you enter the lab the lighting danced off your skin.
"What ya looking at?" "you," she says with a bright smile you can't help but return it "now about the design," Shuri says putting her wrist towards yours before a loading bar appears on hers once it fully loads your design appears as a small hologram she pushes the hologram back and it appears in front of you both "now I'm going to send it to the printing machine and it will do its magic but it might take a while as it's been a bit multifunctional".
You both sat down at her desk as a timer appeared

"oh wow, it really is malfunctioning," you say laughing slightly while Shuri lets out a sigh "no don't you start I've tried to fix it it's not working y/n" "how about I try?" "no" "okay how about we get some rest then?" she doesn't say anything for a couple of minutes making you turn to her she had her arms out making you slide off the table and do onto other lap putting your arms around her neck making her get up and stroll over to the bed that she had moved into the lab.
as she lay down you released your arms from around her and moved over instead of laying on top of her you lay your head on her shoulder.
Shuri waved her hand in the air and the lights dulled with her fluent movement.
she then placed her hand on yours and interlocked it to fall into a peaceful slumber

you two were woken up by the beeping of the timer hitting zero but you both turn around to go back to sleep making the beeping fade out as Shuri cuddled into your side more.
