At the platform, Evie stood with the Weasley's, Harry and Addie. Remus stood close by but not with Evie. They had discussed it earlier, probably best not to been seen together to often as Remus didn't want to be accused of favouritism. That didn't mean no one could know he was her 'uncle', but just that they needed to keep it on the down low.

After boarding the train, Evie and Addie found a carriage with Hallie and the boys from Hufflepuff. Once seated, they got themselves comfortable for the journey ahead.

"So, before we get to school, I need to tell you something," Evie started.

The girls looked concerned, especially after last year, they were on high alert for anything that might be wrong with Evie.

"Don't look at me like that, it's nothing bad," she continued. "My uncle got a job at Hogwarts."

The others looked surprised, not the news they expected.

"That's amazing!" Addie said.

"Won't it be weird having your uncle around all the time, watching your every move?" Hallie asked.

"Yeah, no getting up to mischief this year Evie," Reggie added.

"No hanging around with the Weasley twins then..." Addie mentioned, sounding almost sad.

"Guys, relax! My uncle isn't like that!" Evie reassured them. She wanted to tell them that he had been up to all sorts when he was younger and attended Hogwarts. But, she decided that may be a step too far, after all Remus did have to teach them too and she didn't want to do anything to undermine him. "Besides, the Weasley twins aren't that bad, I thought maybe we could have a little fun this year," a mischievous smile growing on her face.

"I'm not getting involved with any trouble causers Evie, I just need to keep my head down and work hard," Leo stated.

"Not trouble Leo, just the odd practical joke here and there. I feel like I missed out on so much last year, I need to make up for it this year!" Evie said. "Anyway, I didn't say I wouldn't work hard with the school work just that I want to have a little extra fun this year, that's all."

Leo didn't look too sure, but the others seemed to be on board.

"As long as our grades don't slip, I'm in. Maybe we could ask Fred for some pointers?" Addie said casually.

Just then, the train stopped.

"Surely we aren't there yet?" Leo questioned.

"Maybe, we've broken down?" Hallie suggested, "It's freezing, the heating has definitely stopped working.

The train sat stationary for a little while before it began to move again.

"Seems like the train has been fixed now," Reggie stated.

None of them realised that the train had been boarded by the guards of Azkaban. The dementors.

Once everyone had entered the great hall, Dumbledore began to address the children, welcoming them back to another year at Hogwarts.

Evie could see Harry at the Gryffindor table with Ron and Hermione, Ginny was sat a little further up with the twins. Harry looked pale and she could see him eating something that looked like chocolate.

Odd.

Then, Dumbledore announced the new Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher. "Professor Lupin," he said. Remus stood and took a little bow.

Evie couldn't help herself, she erupted in applause and started whooping loudly. Nearly the entire hall began to stare at her, including her friends in Gryffindor, who shot her a quizzical look. She hadn't had chance to tell them that her uncle was joining the teaching staff at Hogwarts.

Evie sat back down, a bright pink flush spread across her whole body. 'Dammit Evie, real smooth! You are supposed to be keeping it on the down low!' she thought to herself, looking up to see if Remus was annoyed.

He wasn't. He smiled softly at her just as the feast began.

Later that evening, Evie sat in Hufflepuff common with the gang. They played games and chatted about how it was good to be back.

After everyone had gone to bed, Evie made herself a cup of tea and sat beside her balcony. She couldn't sit outside because of the rain, but it was nice to listen to the rainfall as she drank her tea.

As she sat listening to the rain, she thought of Sirius. She wondered how he was getting on at home. Luckily, Hope and Lyall came round to the idea of him staying in their home, as long as he didn't cause them any trouble.

Evie decided to write to him.

Dear Padfoot,

Hope you are well.

We arrived at school safe and sound, but I'm worrying about you at home. We have some unwanted guests at school this year. The Dementors are 'protecting' the school grounds apparently.

Remus seems happy. I embarrassed us both at dinner. I cheered a little too enthusiastically when they introduced him as our new Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher.

Anyway, how are you doing? Are you keeping yourself busy? Safe?

Me and my friends have decided that we want to have a little fun this year, while still making sure to keep our grades up of course. What did you, dad and Remus do for fun when you were at school? Apart from transforming dad into a had deer... Any luck with convincing Uncle Moony to let me learn that trick yet?

Can't wait to hear from you,

Evie xo

With that, she sent Galahad off with the letter and went to bed.
