Lady's Secret was born on April 8th, 1982. Her Sire was Secretariat, a triple crown winner in 1973. Her Damn was Great Lady M, she was a gray mare her trainer was D. Wayne Lukas, her record time was 45: 25 - 9 -3 her most notable wins we're the the Moccasin Stakes (1984), The Darley Test (1985), the Ballerina Handicap (1985) The Monmouth Regret Stakes (1985), The Ruffian Handicap (1985,1986), The Beldame Stakes (1985, 1986), the Maskette Handicaps (1985, 1986), The Whitney Handicap (1986), The Molly Pitcher Handicap (1986) and finally the Shuvee Handicap (1986). During her career she was considered to be one of the greatest racing mares, of all time. She was nicknamed "The Iron Lady." In total, she won 3,021,325$. She won Several Awards including The U.S Champion filly, the United States horse of the year, she won honors such as the United States racing hall of fame, (1992) and was rated #76 of the top -100 Racehorses of the 20th century. She had a race named after her called the Lady's Secret B.C Handicap at San Anita Park, 1993, 2009 Lady's Secret was closely related to the champion mare Ruffian, Lady's secret was a rather small horse only weighing 900 lbs. Lady's Secret's silks we're Yellow and had blue sleeves with a white cap. She had an excellent career, Lady's Secret gave birth to 12 foals in total, with 10 starters and 5 winners. None of her progeny we're of particular note. She died of internal bleeding in the uterus, in 2003 due to foaling complications.
