Wednesday claims she saw Rowan die.

Rowan showed up to school this morning.

It's not like I did not believe her but it was clear that he was alive.

Today I'm helping Enid paint the boat for the Poe Cup.

"If Bianca Barclays wins again this year, I will literally scratch my own eyes out!" Enid ranted.

"I would pay money to see that," Wednesday appeared out of nowhere.

"Holy shit," I mumbled under my breath.

"Howdy, roomie! Annabeth and I are so glad you decided to stay."

"I thought you guys wanted your room back."

"Full disclosure, Annabeth is quiet and always with Matt and Thing gives killer back massages."

"Hey, that's not true," I said standing up.

I looked at Wednesday saying, "So....why the change of heart?"

"I refuse to play the role of a pawn in someone else's corrupt game."

Enid gave a look asking, "You mean Rowan?"

"I witnessed his murder."

"We all saw him this morning though, very much alive."

"I know. Which leads me to believe I've been losing my mind."

"Aren't we all?" I said to myself going to grab another paint bottle.

"It's not nearly as fun as I had anticipated," Wednesday looked down then looked back at Enid.

"You're Nevermore's gossip queen. What's Rowan's story?"

"Other than being a weird loser...Uh...no offense."

"None taken."

"Matt and Xavier are his roommates. Maybe try asking one of them," I said walking beside Enid.

"Yoko. Come on! Flare those whiskers. The Poe Cup droops for no one," Enid demanded.

"What is the Poe Cup anyway?"

"The entire reason Enid is living right now."

Enid goes on, "Part canoe race, part foot chase, no rules. Each dorm has to pick an Edgar Allan Poe short story for inspiration. Ms. Thornhill just ordered pizza. Want to take a stab at being social?"

I chuckled at Enid.

"I do like stabbing. The social part, not so much."

"It's almost her writing time." Wednesday looked back at me.

"Oh. No worries. Just as long as you're lakeside cheering us to victory on race day! Or you can just glare uncomfortably. Whatever works for you," she winked on Wednesday.

I was watching from afar seeing Wednesday walk up to Xavier as he was practicing archery.

I saw him trying to show her how to shoot but knowing Wednesday she already does.
