Chapter 20: Three Legged Race

Three Legged Race

Holding the ball, I rolled my shoulders and cracked my neck from left to right as I prepare to throw the ball again. At the center of the court is a girl my age from the marketing department and Poppy who looks almost scared as she give me a worried look.

Were playing all female dodgeball at the moment. Dalawa ang natira mula sa kani-kanilang department, at ako naman sa executive department. Well, there's only me in the first place. Ms. Annie refused to play the game since she said she's too old to handle getting hit a ball.

Tatlo nalang kami natira at ako ngayon ang may hawak ng bola. I've had the ball for tthe past fifteen minutes and so far, I've managed to oust the other departments' representatives.

"Please. You're really scaring me Kisha." Pagmamaka-awa ni Poppy. She's been screaming like a scared child all through out the game, I'm surprised she still remained standing. 

Dahil naawa ako dito ay hinihaan ko lang ang pagbato ng bola at sinadyang tamaan ito sa braso. Imbes na malungkot ay napatalon pa ito sa tuwa.

"Finally!" Sigaw nito na lumapit sa mga kasama mula sa IT department.

"Iyan na nga ang pinaka-madaling larong pwede mong salihan, natalo ka pa." Reklamo ni Kev.

"Excuse me? I don't see you winning any game either!" Nakapamewang na singhal ni Poppy.

"Our department has never won a single game." Nick shook his head in disappointment towards his team members. "And we facliated this event. What a disgrace!"

"Go, Jenny! Talunin mo yan!" Sigaw ng mga marketing department kay Jenny na naghihintay na ibato ko ang bola.

Unfortunately, she was able to catch the ball when I threw it. I admit, she is very good but I won't lose to her. Ako lang at si Gabby ang pag-asa ng executive team dahil Si Sir Henry at Ms. Annie ay ayaw maglaro. I can't really imagine Sir Henry playing any games anyway.

Jenny smirked at my direction as she held the ball tightly. Sa unang pagbato niya ay naiwasan ko ang bola at sa pangalawa ay nagawa ko itong saluhin. Now it's my turn and I'll make sure she'll get hit.

And indeed, I managed to hit Jenna to the face so hard she fell on the floor.

"Oh my god! I'm sorry!" Agad akong lumapit dito. "Hindi ko sinasadya."

Tinulungan ko itong tumayo.

"It's okay, that was a good game. I had to pretend I wasn't scared of you." Natatawang sagot nito habang hawak ang nasaktang pisngi.

"Sorry, I get really competitive when I play games." Napakamot nalang ako.

Ilang sandali pa ay narinig na ang announcement. "We have a winner for the female dodgeball. From the executive team, Kisha Valentine! And that's two for the executve team!"

Nagsipalakpakan naman sina Poppy at Ms.   Annie. From time to time, announcement of players is being announce all throughout the school. The Lannister Industry has a school as well which the sport event is being held right now.

At dahil sa dami ng emleyado ng komanya at ibat-ibang mga laro ay kaliwat-kanan na ginaganap ang mga laro sa buong campus. Kanina lang ay narinig ko ang pangalan ni Gabby nang manalo ito ng Swimming contest. I didn't even know he'd be joining until I heard his name being announced. I thought he'd be staying in the office with Allicer.

Just as expected, Allicer did not attend the event and everyone is not surprised. Of course, Don Alfonso who was at the opening, was very disappointed. I feel sorry for his security left alone with him in the office.
