As students were relieved for another day at the prison known as Middleton High School to finally end, it was just getting started for the athletes and other after school activities. Cheerleaders and jocks alike walked out of the door many either adjusting the uniforms issued to them or trying to adjust ton the glaring sun. Kaylen Butler a.k.a. the new kid on the block after a good minute examined his new equipment starting with the purple and a rabid bulldog as the logo or crest. He took one last between his SpeedFlex helmet and the football where he get a chance to show his versatile skills as the new star receiver slash strong safety for the Middleton Mad Dogs. He then looked at his practice jersey a giant block number seventeen, taking a deep breath as he finally stepped on the natural grass playing surface. He looked towards his left to see Kim Possible, Tara Morgan and Bonnie Rockwaller do their stretches and to the right the rest of his football players going through pre-workouts. It was then the booming voice of the vice principal Barkin thundered from the locker rooms, clipboard and playbook in hand.

Barkin: Look alive, Butler! You may be new to them but you'll find out very quickly I'm eager to put you through your paces and see what this so called 'California Pepper' is truly made of.

Kaylen did a lazy yet firm salute for the ex-soldier as he continued walking towards the field.

Kaylen: Yessir, Coach Barkin! Alright Kay, nothing too major just gotta impress your new teammates and earn your spot fair and square and you'll be gucci. Nothing major, right?

The minute, no the second he had stepped onto the field, the rip of a whistle blew as if to signal hell was about to begin.

Barkin: ALRIGHT MAGGOTS LINE IT UP! MOVE, MOVE, MOVE NOW!

Everyone that was anyone on the Mad Dogs football team did as the vice principal and seemingly Army Knife teacher demanded, lining up in the endzone as Barkin, having traded in his usual suit and tie get up for more casual athletic clothing going with a Nike track jacket, New Era Visor with the Mad Dog insignia on it, completing the look with pants a man his stature could fit into.

Barkin: As you all know, the season is approaching fast and we've got a mere one week until our first game kicks off against the Lowerton Lynx, one of our most despised rivals out there. While we've traditionally dominated this rivarly in the past in the historical context, they've been responsible for bouncing us out of the state playoffs four of the last five years and frankly? I'm sick of it. Which is why I'm glad we're returning a veteran-led cast mixed with a sprinkle of optimism with new sophomores coming up. But this next week will be your personal hell week, if you slack even once? I will bench your ass. If you drop a catchable ball or fumble it? Benched. Jaw with your teammates, your brothers? YOU WILL PERSONALLY TURN IN YOUR JERSEY OVER TO ME! AM I UNDERSTOOD!?

Barkin: GOOD! Now we're gonna start off with our usual team stretches and breakdown, then we'll have one hour team designated walkthroughs. Skill-players goes with the offensive and defensive coordinators. Offensive line and Defensive lines, go to your coaches for Sled work, and so on, so forth. I'll personally be taking the QB's and our new shiny toy. Put him through our Mad Dog paces. AND BREAK! Butler you're with me and our quarterbacks Flagg, Howard and Stephens. They'll get forty-five reps with you, fifteen each for them of their own selection. After this they'll give me their honest to God feedback about your style of play, route running and you'll do the same for Brick, Winston and Payton. A signal caller is only as good as the receiver they're trusting in major situations. After this we'll run a series of live ball scrimmages and see how you fit into our game plan for the season. Think you can handle the pressure?

Kaylen: I was born to handle pressure and smash through glass ceilings.

Barkin: I'll be the judge of that, son. But it's refreshing to not hear someone whine and complain, now then... ON THE LINE!
