         "Emilie?"

"Sorry, Mr. Agreste, but she is not responding."

I felt my heart break at the news. Sure, the crash was terrible. How was I to know it would ruin our happy life?

"You can fix this, right? She and I have been married for six years."

The nurse shook her head in pity as she exited the room.

I sat by Emilie's bedside with tears in my eyes. I held her hand and spoke to her.

"Emilie, I know you are unconscious, but please try to remember."

I  was determined to help her regain her memories—every last one of them.

         Flashback to the past...

It was senior year in high school, and I was on my way to the music room.

My piano lesson was about to start. However, a girl collided with me, and I dropped my music sheets.

      "I am so sorry."

      "It is o-okay."

Since when did I have a stuttering problem?

         "I am  G-Gabriel A-Agreste."

"Nice, to meet you, Gabriel, I am Emile Graham Devillany."

"Say, you happen to know where the music room is?"

I saw her smile at me with her hand on her hips.

"Yes, I was on the way there when you crashed into me."  I blurted out.

I stood up after we had cleaned up my music.

        Emilie followed me.

         "Mr. Bougerious, this is Emilie."

"Ah, yes, the new piano student. I do hope you enjoy your experience at Francis Dupoint."

"I already do, thanks to Gabriel here."

             I blushed at her response.

Time seemed to go by fast as the days turned into weeks, which soon became months, then years.

Emile and I had been going out since the day we met.

I was so enthusiastic about the ring.

          I was a nervous wreck.

"Gabriel, It is so good to see you!"

Emilie pulled me close. It was then I knew I was right she was the one for me. She always had been and always would be the one.

"Emilie, there is something I need to ask you."

She pulled away and I saw the look of horror in her eyes.

            Something was wrong, but what?

I walked with her to class.

Later, after college let out, I took her to the beach.

             I popped the question.
