"Of course, Sunoo has on like, picture perfect makeup while our Jake just naturally looks like a handsome rugby player".
"Excuse me??" Sunoo made a face, "I could go without makeup!"
"Could you?" Taehyun, who had started on Sunoo the second we walked into the restaurant, smirked at our friend. "Could you, REALLY, Kim Sunoo?"
"Of course, I could," Sunoo crossed his arms and closed his eyes, sticking his nose up in the air. "I could if I wanted to." A smile spread across his face as he resumed his normal posture and gave Taehyun a kiss on the cheek.
"The thing is," Sunoo said, "that I don't want to."
"And I wouldn't have it any other way," Taehyun smiled, giving him a big hug before we sat down at the table. Beomgyu was beaming when he saw Sunoo, and I saw a look exchange between them and then Sunoo side-eyed Taehyun. Beomgyu's eyes widened, and I made a mental note to ask about that later.
"So," Taehyun began, picking up his menu, "you and Heeseung are fake broken up, am I understanding that correctly?"
I almost spit out my water that I had just begun to swallow. "Count on you to get straight to the point," I laughed.
"Oh, Jakey...I could sit here and pretend to be interested in other things. But we both know I need the tea on this particular situation. ESPECIALLY after what happened at the studio the other night." Taehyun gave a me a very sweet - and very fake - smile, prompting Sunoo and Beomgyu to burst into laughter.
"Savage as always, I see," I laughed at our friend.
"Speaking of savage - where's Jungwon?" Taehyun asked.
"He had a meeting with management today," Sunoo answered, "but what about Kai?"
"We forgot he and Yeonjun have a photoshoot today," Beomgyu answered, "and he's not happy about missing you guys."
For most of our time at university, it was the 6 of us that did everything together. To some degree it was proximity - we were all music majors in some capacity and attended all of the same events. Beomgyu and Sunoo were a songwriting team for most of our time there.
I've watched Sunoo listen to some of the demos Beomgyu sends or one of the songs they had planned to perform together that is now a song by Tomorrow x Together, and I know it makes him sad. But Sunghoon has been after him lately to spend more time with him when he's able.
Jungwon is Sunoo's best friend, but he shares some personality traits with Beomgyu that most people would never expect. They're caring and deep thinkers who like to make the world believe they aren't. The world - or at least some of it - think that they're just pretty faces with big personalities.
"Whatcha thinking?" Taehyun laughed, catching me staring as Sunoo and Beomgyu chatted away.
I laughed, "Actually, I was kind of psychoanalyzing that friendship," I gestured my head toward our friends.
