Maverick?

It does ring a bell to me.

Who is him again? He seems familiar.

He's an inch taller than me. Wearing pale blue shirt and tattered jeans. He has nice physique. Good built. His face features also stood out. Manly eyebrows, expressive eyes, pointed nose, rosy red lips, wait...why do I keep on checking him out?

Argh!

I silently groaned.

Why do I suck at remembering people's name?

Maybe the guy saw my furrowed brows so he spoke again.

"Uhmm...I'm Ken's friend. So as Pablo's." Maverick said.

Matapos nyang sabihin yun ay bigla kong naalala kung saan ko siya nakita.

Ohh yeah. He's Ken's friend.

I saw him sometimes when Ken and I bumped into the university.

"Ohh! I'm sorry. Mahina talaga ako sa pag alaala ng mga tao eh. Di kita agad nakilala." I said and flashed an apologetic smile.

He scratched his nape.

"O-Okay lang. Hindi rin naman kasi tayo nag uusap sa school pag nagkikita tayo." he said.

I don't know if my eyes are tricking me but I felt that his cheeks were tinted with the shade of pink as he spoke to me.

Maverick? Does that mean that he's the one who helps Pablo the night he hadn't got home?

"Pasok ka." I opened the door widely and invite him in.

"Salamat." wika nito.

I walked towards the cushions and motioned him to sit. Which he gladly did.

"Do you want anything? Juice, coffee?" I asked.

"No no, i'm fine. Thanks." sagot nito habang umiiling.

I didn't try insisting. I sat on the opposite couch.

"So you're here to visit Pablo right?" tanong ko.

I saw him startled by my sudden question.

"U-Uhm y-yes. If t-that would be okay." he replied and looked down.

Mabilis na naningkit ang aking mga mata.

He's honest. I know he is. Yet why does he keep on stuttering? What's going on?

Ayaw kong maging mapaghinala pero binibigyan niya ako ng dahilan para mag isip ng kung ano ano.

Maverick played with his hands.

He looked like a child who's afraid of scolding of his parents. Cute.

Maybe i'm just overthinking things.

Siguro hindi siya sanay na makipag usap sa hindi nya gaanong kakilala. And i'm that. Can still consider as a stranger.

I sighed.

"Yes. That would be fine." I declared.

Maverick immediately looked up and our gazes met.

"Thank you!" he said with too much joy.

There was a loud thump.

Oh shit.

His eyes... it's glowing...

Agad kong inalis ang pagkakatitig sa mga mata niya.

Ako naman ngayon ang tumungo.

I can feel my heated cheeks.
