On Monday, you throw yourself wholeheartedly into your work. A new client proves to be quite a handful and you eagerly welcome the distraction, trying to forget all about the looming date of Studio V's grand opening. Paperwork piles up on your desk while unread emails fill your inbox, and you eagerly tackle the menial task of sorting through them. Retrieving a stack of filing folders and a fresh box of paper clips from the storage room, you settle down at your desk and ignore the world around you until long after the sun has set.

Tuesday brings with it fresh documents and even more emails, and Wednesday offers no reprieve from the flood. Your desk grows more cluttered by the hour, and by noon you are forced to grab a fresh pack of folders. Plopping back down at your desk, you set the supplies down before clearing a space to eat lunch. Pulling a rather sad container of salad from your bag, you settle down to eat, scrolling through your phone as you bring a forkful of limp greens to your mouth.

[11:07am] Jin: You better still be going to that art gallery tonight

[11:08am] Jin: I'm serious. Don't go bailing now

[11:57am] Jin: You're turning into a workaholic, Jungkook must be rubbing off. Answer me, young lady

You roll your eyes at your insistent best friend and set your fork down to type out a response.

[12:33pm] You: Oh relax. I'm going, promise

His response comes in almost immediately.

[12:33pm] Jin: Good. I expect live updates

[12:33pm] You: Yes Mom

Chuckling at your joke, you exit out of his message and scroll through the rest of your social media, catching up on any news you might have missed between now and your rushed cup of coffee this morning. Your phone buzzes again just as you are clicking out of a boring news article about the volatile economy, and you thumb over to your messages, fully expecting it to be a return text from a mock-affronted Seokjin. But instead, you are greeted by a new message under your boyfriend's name, and you almost drop your phone in your haste to open it.

[12:41pm] Jungkook: You free this weekend? I've been looking at apartments for us and I think I've found a few nice ones that we can take a look at!

His enthusiasm is unmistakable, and you cannot help the smile that tugs at your lips-even with your ongoing reservations about living together. You'd reiterated your lingering uncertainty to Jungkook on Monday morning from the safe confines of your bed, nestled in the fluffiest comforter you own, and he'd been nothing if not understanding. Since then, however, you've heard very little from him, so today's message is a pleasant surprise. Sending back a cheery affirmation, you settle back down to finish your lunch.

The rest of the workday passes in a hazy blur of tedious clerical work. The hours blend together until you can no longer distinguish whether time is dragging or flying by, and you only snap out of your stupor when the clock strikes five. Throwing the scattered papers on your desk into somewhat organized piles takes another fifteen minutes, and you loiter in front of your computer for a few more afterward, suddenly reluctant to go home. Once you return to your apartment, the next place you have to go is Studio V, and all of the nervousness that has been simmering in the pit of your stomach surges up and out, flooding through your body. You have absolutely no plan of action for tonight, and even less of an idea of what to do if the owner of the gallery is the same Kim Taehyung you had dinner with last week. Still, you can't avoid going home forever-and besides, there is a box of leftover takeout from the previous evening calling your name like a siren.

Your commute has never been too long-something you've been thankful for in the past-but it absolutely flies by this evening. You are unlocking your front door and stepping inside your apartment in what feels like record time, walking over to the fridge to retrieve your leftovers and throw them in the microwave before heading to your room to change. It's tempting to simply put on pajamas, but you somehow manage to convince yourself to select a nice sweater and dark jeans instead. Pulling the clothes on, you head back into the main room, stopping by the kitchen to pick up your hot food on your way to the couch. A couple hours of mindless television is exactly what you need.
