It was dark one of the darkest and longest nights ever
A small 4-year-old girl crying while another small 7-year-old boy held her hand and pulled her back while also crying
those two kids were witness to how badly their father was beating their mother up as their mother couldn't do anything but to give them a weak smile while receiving the beatings like always, it was like a routine, dad would always get drunk at home and once mom comes back from work he would start beating her up
mom was always covered up in bruises but she always managed to give us a weak smile.
Today it got out of hands
He got a belt and started hitting her without mercy continuously while Jin and Jisoo just cry while watching the scene in-front of their eyes what was happening with their mom was completely in acceptable but they were helpless
their father stopped beating her and then left to the kitchen to get another beer bottle
"J-Jin M-my purse" their mother voiced as Jin quickly runs to get her purse and give it to her while trying to act strong in front of her
"T-Take the P-Purse and RUN please"
"Eomma no we can't leave you like this he will kill you"
"J-Jisoo my daughter come here" the small girl runs to her mom and hugs her "J-Jisoo is your responsibility Jin please T-Take care of her" the small boy nods while crying holding onto his mom
"I-I'm sorry I couldn't be a good mother, I love you both so much and J-Jin promise me you will become a successful person and make your sister a successful person," she says and tries to lift up her pinky as the boy looks at her with a tear-stained face before joining his tiny little finger with hers.
Their Mother smiles at them before closing her eyes...Forever
The small girl starts screaming for her mom as the boy looks shocked but can't give up on their promise so quickly he covers his sister's mouth and lifts her while holding onto the purse their mother gave them he quickly runs to the door before that monster comes
Before opening the door he turns around and looks back at his mom
"I will never let go of the promise mom, thank you so much for being an amazing mom" he runs out of the door while holding his 4-year-old sister who was continuously crying
It was cold and they didn't know where to go, the small boy held his sister tightly in one hand as he places the purse over his head
"O-Oppa I'm hungry" Jin looks at her worriedly as he checks the purse their mother gave him he saw a credit card and some cash
He looked around for some food and spotted a convenience store
He takes his sister and walks into the convenience store, he looks around and finds some bread and milk he looks back at his sister who was looking at him with her Bambi eyes
The small girl sits on one of the chairs while eating like there's no tomorrow while her brother looks around for some jackets and blankets
Luckily he spotted them, he quickly takes 2 jackets and a blanket and pays for everything
he turns around to see his sister looking out of the window he walks to her and sits next to her
"Jisoo-yah" his sweet voice gained the attention of his sister as she hugs him tightly
"Oppa I don't have a mother anymore" a tear escapes his eyes as he caresses her hair
"Yah who said you don't have a mother, you have me aren't Oppa like your mother?" she grins at him and nods cutely
They go out of the convenience store and walk to wherever their legs are taking them
They reach a neighbourhood full of houses, the small boy spots a playground with a bench he takes his sister who is already asleep on his back there
He puts the purse under his sister's head and gently lies her down on the bench and covers her with a blanket so she's not cold
He hugs himself with the jacket and sleeps on the floor below the bench so he could have his eyes on his sister.
Both of them drift off because of not having any more energy in them
"Namjoon go see if we have mail today" a woman screams
"GOING" The small 6-year-old boy replies
He checks their mailbox and gets out the letters that came in for them, he turns around to leave when he spots their neighbourhood playground
He sees two very young children sleeping there, him being an extremely well raise boy ran inside the house to his mom
"Mom! Mom! there are two homeless kids in the playground, it looks like they need help" His mother was an extremely soft and kind-hearted women
"What, really" He nods
The mother and Son walk towards the playground and see the two small kids sleeping there
Go-Eun slowly strikes Jin's hair as she gets soft seeing him
That gesture was enough for Jin to wake up quickly and be welcomed by two new faces, he gets alarmed and quickly looks up at his sister and holds her hand tightly and looks at the two strangers
Jisoo slightly opens her eyes and the first thing she sees is Go-Eun
"E-Eomma?"
That was enough for Go-Eun's heart to melt that's when she knew she wanted 3 kids
"Yes it's me your Eomma," she says while caressing Jisoo's hair as the small girl smiles widely and throws herself at Go-Eun
Jin looked at them confusingly
"Hi Bro, My name is Kim Namjoon" Namjoon lends his hand for a handshake Jin looks at him for a second before joining his hand
That was how these two innocent kids were saved from the cruel world and were accepted into a family that treated them equally to their biological child and were provided with good education, and were showered with family love that they always craved for and that's when Jin knew he passed the 1st step of accomplishing his mom's promise.
