A/N: I hope you all enjoy it!
Roger's pov:
I blinked in disbelief at the fact that Nia Jones just blocked this random guy from punching me in the face. The guy recovered from his shock and quickly threw another punch now aimed at her.
To my surprise, Nia grabbed my wrist and ran out of the shop. She flipped the guy the bird as we got away.
That is until I caught a scent and I stopped running. Nia stopped in a jerk looking back at me with concern.
"What's wrong? Are you ok?" She asked as she took a few steps closer to me.
"I can't believe you did that for me", I told her as I stared into her brown eyes.
She scoffed before she spoke, "That guy was being a dick plus your mine. No one is allowed to mess with what's mine and get away with it"
My eyebrows shot up at her possessive tone. Before I could allow myself to get too excited I needed clarification.
"I'm your what?", I asked her.
"Friend", she answered with a smile that blew away most of my disappointment.
"Do you have an umbrella on you?", I changed the subject.
"No. Why?", she questioned me just as the downpour of rain came hard like bricks upon us, "oh no my hair!"
"Come on I can do your hair for you", I told her as I looked around for witnesses then swept her off her feet and ran to my place at my natural speed.
I stopped in front of my house, unlocked the door, and walked in with her still in my arms.
"What do you mean you can do my hair?", she questioned after taking a few deep breaths with her head on my chest.
"I'm a licensed hair stylist", I spoke the simple fact about myself.
"No way", she gasped in disbelief as she lifted her head, water dripping from her hair onto my already wet shirt.
I roll my eyes at her, "I like to try new things and decided to go to school for hair. I even ran my own shop. Ever heard of Reflected?"
Her eyes widened then lowered, "Nope. I'm not really into hair care. Which is why I was at the shop. I decided to at least make a habit of trying to take care of my hair"
I place her down on her feet, "Reflected is one of the top beauty salons in this country. And I will show you why. Now go dry off and change into one of my shirts. I'll get some things and join you to wash your hair".
She blinked at me as I took the bag from her. She looked between me, and the bag, and then she sighed before walking to the stairs.
Nia was up about seven steps before looking back at me with confusion on her face.
"First door on the right then left is the ensuite bathroom. The door next to it is my walk-in closet", I told her as I headed into my hall closet.
I grabbed a few combs, brushes, hair clips, and rubber bands as an idea formed in my head for what I wanted to do to her hair. Looking into the bag I saw shampoo, conditioner, gel, and grease.
They were all cheap but would do the job. I'd need to buy a better brand for her next time.
I put everything in her bag and made my way up to my room. Gabbing a blow dryer and extra towels from the second hall closet on my way.
Setting everything down on my bed I found that I was a little excited to be able to style someone's hair again. I wanted to woo her with my skills.
I moved my reading chair from the corner of the room to in front of the bed facing the television. Grabbing the remote and set up Netflix for her to pick something to watch as I style her hair.
"Are you sure you want to wash my hair? I can do that part myself" Nia announced as she stepped out of the ensuite in a red button-up shirt and a pair of black sweatpants both belonging to me.
"No. You're getting the full treatment. Now give me your wet clothes so that I can toss them in the dryer", I ordered her as I peeled off my own wet shirt.
I felt her eyes trailing over every inch of my exposed skin and I resisted the urge to show her more. What if she saw my growing erection, that would certainly change the mood.
Willing my blood to go anywhere but down there I extended my hands waiting for her clothes. Nia licked her lips before biting her lower one, turning she went back into my bathroom and handed over her wet clothes.
By the time she came back, I was wearing dry matching sweatpants and nothing else. I took her clothes and went down to the laundry room putting everything in the dryer before rushing back to her.
"The clothes should be done soon", I said, expecting her to be waiting for me yet I hear water running instead and note that the shampoo, conditioner, and a towel are missing from the bed.
I walked over to the ensuite, leaning against the door frame to see Nia on her knees in front of the tub struggling with the controls for the water. I walked up behind her quietly and blew my breath on her neck.
She screamed, jolting in fright before turning to glare at me as I smirked at her. She swung at me but I caught her wrist bringing her fist close to my face, pressing a soft kiss to her knuckles.
"You're an ass", she said, the irritation in her eyes still raging.
"You're beautiful", I told her sincerely before teasing, "and so stubborn. If you keep playing with the controls like that you'll hurt yourself"
"Who stopped who from getting punched in the face again?" She taunted me with a raised eyebrow.
"It'll be faster if I do it unless you want to spend all night here?" I questioned her, raising my eyebrow as I exaggerated a little.
Nia puffed out her cheeks and moved away from the controls. I adjusted the temperature and guided her under the water.
"Is this ok for you?", I asked her as I grabbed the shower head and started to soak her hair and scalp.
"Yeah, it's perfect", She answered and I went about washing and conditioning her hair.
It felt very calming, the simple act of caring for her. The silence that enveloped us was peaceful so much so that I wondered what I was so scared about before.
