You and Kakyoin were startled by Jotaro's sudden outburst. You had just left the room and were making your way to the library to see Avdol.

"Freeze! Stay in bed!" Jojo had yelled. After that, you had heard some mumbling.

"Her face was really flushed." You commented. "She was panting, too. Her body can't do that for long." Kakyoin hummed in agreement.

You looked up at the Cherry beside you. Despite everything he had been through at this point, and was still involved in, he still seemed... happy? No. Content. How could he possibly be content? He was just saved from Dio's control a few days ago, he's in an unfamiliar environment, and he doesn't seem to care. Maybe it was all an act?

"Yen for your thoughts?" Kakyoin asked. You realized his face was a light pink. Your stomach flipped. Had you been staring at him the whole time?

"Uh, I was thinking about how we were going to find Dio." You stumbled.

"By staring at me?"

"Uh, um." A knot formed in your throat as blood rushed to your face. Kakyoin laughed softly. You admired the way his eyes closed and his head tilted to his right side. His nose scrunched up ever so slightly. He revealed a small smile, and his red hair bounced with his laughter. He opened his eyes as his amusement died down. His purple eyes sparkled brightly. However, there was a sadness behind the sparkle. Both of you looked at one another for a moment longer than you should've. Then he grinned and began to walk to the library again.

He left you a bit behind. Your brain was still trying to comprehend the event it just witnessed. Your breathing was slightly heavier and your heart was not functioning properly. Damn it. You had only known him a few days. You can't do this. Not right now. Not ever. Never again.

"Oi! Y/n!" He called. "You coming?"

"Uh- yeah!" You were ripped from your mind. With your heart still fluttering, you ran to catch up. You wished you could stop the flutter.

"Hello, Y/n, Kakyoin." Avdol said, not looking up from his encyclopedia.

You had just reached the library door. You were both silent as you approached, so it was a bit startling when he spoke.

"Oh, hello, Avdol-san." You stuttered.

"It seems you've recovered nicely, Kakyoin." He commented. "Good job, Y/n. My apologies, I'm in the middle of an investigation."

"Is it possible for a stand to kill its user?" Kakyoin blurted. You looked up at him, confused. Avdol looked at him for a moment, as if he didn't expect that type of question.

"It is." He confirmed. "I've witnessed the phenomenon several times. At the present, Holly's stand is confined to her back. The thorny plant stand, in time, will overtake her body. She will develop a high fever and multiple illnesses before slipping into a coma. Then death." His voice dropped at the last word.

"No ordinary doctor can see the stand, much less cure her. No one, not you-" He nodded his head in your direction. "-nor I can cure her."

You sighed, and Kakyoin placed a hand on your shoulder. You looked at him and noticed he felt bad, too.

"There is hope, however." Avdol said. He snapped the encyclopedia shut and pulled out another one. "It will be fifty days before the stand takes its toll. We must locate Dio, and destroy him before time runs out. If we can sever the link between her stand and Dio, we can save her.

You stared in disbelief.

"That's only around a month and a half, right?" Kakyoin squeezed your shoulder. You nodded.
