"God." Joseph breathed. He stared down at the ape who was squirming against Hierophants tentacles. Noriaki tightened his grasp, making him cry out and stop struggling. "We were helpless."

The four of you were now on the deck. You leaned against Jotaro the whole way back, as your headache and bruised ankles made it difficult to walk. He had to catch you a few times because you had tripped over a bolt or your own feet. Nori dragged the ape back with Hierophant's tentacles. He seemed to struggle a bit, so you chose to use Jojo for support. He did, however, always have enough energy to squeeze the ape whenever he felt necessary.

"What a terrifying power." Avdol said shakily, bringing you back to the present. "That ape was traveling the ocean on its own stand. Never before have I witnessed such energy."

"I hate to think this power could be a sign of what's to come." Joseph muttered to no one in particular.

"At least this way we can get to Egypt faster." Jojo said, muffled by the cigarette between his lips.

"Jojo, Nori can't hold him forever." You whispered. "Look at him."

Noriaki had his jaw clenched as sweat beaded at his face. His breathing was a bit labored. Hierophant hovered nearby, still wrapped tightly around the monkey.

"Yeah. Yeah, I know." He sighed. He clenched his jaw and looked away.

"I'm sorry, Jojo."

"Yare yare." His voice wavered a little. He pulled his hat down and took a long drag on his cigarette.

You rubbed his arm silently and walked away as Polnareff appeared. He was heading towards Jotaro and seemed excited to hear how the fight went.

"Oi, Polnareff!" You called.

"Oui, Chérie?" He smiled, turning to meet you.

"Can you come with me to find Avdol and Joestar-san? I need to ask them a question about where we're going next."

"Oui! Of course." He gestured for you to follow him.

You glanced back to Jotaro as Polnareff led you to the two men. His teeth were bared in anger, and his fists gripped the side rail of the boat, his knuckles turning white. Tears fell silently onto his clenched hands. The sight was a bit startling, as you hadn't seen much emotion from him since the whole trip began. The stress finally caught up to him. A weight sat on your heart.

'I'm sorry, Jojo.' You thought sadly. 'We'll find Dio. We'll save your mother. I promise.'

You turned back around when Polnareff announced his presence.

"Joestar-san. Avdol." You said as you approached the two leaders of the group. They stopped talking with one another at your words. "Where are we going next?"

"We were planning on going straight to Egypt, but with how Kakyoin's looking, I'm not sure it's going to happen." Joseph answered.

"What if you swapped out with Hermit Purple, Joestar-san?"

"Neither Hierophant Green or Hermit Purple are built for strength." Avdol commented. "Both would drain of energy rapidly, and there isn't much time to recharge even if they did swap out. They would only be running on fumes."

"Then where will we stop?"

"We are near Singapore. It's just that way," Joseph pointed to the left of you. "west. Shouldn't take another hour or two."

"Okay, thanks. I'll let Noriaki know." You nodded and hurried to tell him.

They saw you wipe a bit of sweat from Kakyoin's face as it reddened. You argued with him briefly, and he seemed to give in. He turned and started speaking to the ape.
