Niyama was laying halfway in the sand and halfway in the cool water, she was resting after another rough Tsahìk lesson her mother gave her. She hardly ever had time to rest even though she's only 15. She opened her eyes to look at the cloudless sky and in the distance she saw colorful Ikran off in the distance. She sat up immediately while starring at the Ikran, noticing strangely dark blue Na'vi  unlike her teal colored self.  Apparently other people in her clan had noticed the Ikran as well as she heard the horn for foreign people.

She got up and sprinted to where everyone was gathering. Niyama is built slightly different then her people, she's far thinner and doesn't have the same aquatic limbs and tail as everyone, but she is still far better at swimming and running than everyone else.

She got to her parents and siblings as the foreign Na'vi landed their Ikrans in front of everyone. Most of the Metkayina people moved out of the way and had shocked looks but Niyama held a stern look as well as her mother.

As the foreigners got off their Ikrans she noticed that they were a family, the way they were helping each other on to the ground and how similar they all looked. Niyama noticed they were built differently as well, they were a deep blue, slim, their tails were thin like her tail, and they all had yellow eyes.

Niyama noticed her mother was very tense and didn't want them in their territory by her body language. When all of them got off and she was able to get a good look at the newcomers she saw that there was the parents, two teenage boys and one teenage girl and a young girl. She also notice the eye contact one of the teenage boys and her sister Tsireya were holding. She nudged her sister to move her sister's attention to something else, the last thing Niyama needed was for her sister becoming attached to someone who's not even in her clan.

Tsireya looked up at her sister with a clueless look on her face then smiled and lightly said, "Relax".

Niyama knew all too well and knew her sister like the back of her hand, she glared at her then focused back on the newcomers. Her father and the other man were greeting each other, then once they finished speaking with each other her father announced that the man on their land was in fact Toruk Makto the rider of the last shadow and that they will be staying with them and to not be useless, his children will teach them the way of the water. Niyami looked to her father with a shocked face, "Father, why me? I am busy enough with learning the ways of being Tsahìk." she exclaimed with annoyance. That is when she felt someone starring straight at her, a stare she will soon become very familiar with.

"You are my eldest child, which makes you the most experienced, you've taught children, this should be no different." her father shut her down quickly and sternly. Niyama growled in annoyance and moved back to where she originally stood next to her mother. "My children Niyama, Tsireya, and Ao'nung will teacher your children how to not be useless here, I expect them to treat you all with respect."

After her father appointed them to gathering their household items and things they will need, they started the walk through the housing system their clan has built, "You guys can follow us to where you will be staying." Tsireya said nicely and calmly. Niyama turned her head to look back at her sister with a blank face as she was ahead of everyone then took a quick glance at the eldest son of the Sully family. As she glanced she saw that he was already starring at her, she just rolled her eyes and kept walking. This caught Neteyam's interest. Neytiri didn't fail to notice her son's sudden change of mood.
