Pippa's POV
Standing with Daveed, Emmy, Vanessa and Clementine away from the line for baggage check-in as Lin checked his luggage in was hard. I don't know how our routine is going to change. I want to say that nothing will change but Lin is a close friend, almost like a brother to me. Having him leave definitely changes things.
I hate how he told me so late, I know for a fact now that he told everyone else much earlier. My main question is why is he doing this months before my wedding. I know I still have 8 months to it, but why would he even want to leave.
"I'm gonna miss him so much... What am I going to do when I need one of his late night cheering up sessions?" Vanessa let out with a heavy sigh, she seemed to be incredibly affected because she only just recently got him back just to lose him again to some stupid job across the country.
As they finished checking in, Daveed kept his arm around Lin and looked at him with glossy eyes as they finally reached back to us.
Everyone hugged Lin right before he went into security, the hugs were soulful if anything but when he hugged me it seemed not only forced but much shorter than the other ones. Clementine pushed her teary girlfriend to him last, knowing she needed to give the last hug. The soft sob that left Lin's lips was not lost on me, Vanessa was soaking his t-shirt with her tears, I envied their connection. Lin has been distancing himself from me for weeks and I hated every moment of it. I had so many questions that I knew would never get answered. It hurt. Does he realise how much he hurt me doing this?
~~~~A Few Days Later~~~~
Third Person's POV
The silence was painful for Daveed, he knew Lin was loud and did a lot for him, he didn't realize how much exactly. Emmy missed Lin's food and hugs more than anything, even though barely a week has gone by. Steven really didn't notice the massive loss of presence but as for his fiance, she had a dull ache in her head. One that no amount of tylenol could cure.
During dinner they would ask Lin to pass the food or seasoning forgetting for a happy second that he left them. Daveed would sometimes wait after Lin's old shift would get over just to feel a tiny bit of hope that he had a bad dream and his best friend was just at work, not on the other side of the country. Vanessa and Clementine chose to visit once a week to keep the friendship up, but they had to be honest at some point, without Lin as the social lubricant the friendship between them was deteriorating. Once a week becomes every 2 weeks and slowly just stops fully.
They all obviously knew he wasn't there anymore, but they did what they did anyway just in hopes that maybe it was all just a hallucination. Facetime with Lin was fun, he showed them everything new in his apartment and his roommate... his incredibly gorgeous roommate. In addition to the dull ache in her head she had a burn in her stomach, she wasn't sure why. It wasn't like Lin and Toni were dating, he was like a brother to her. So... Why?
A/n: So like @onlyhere4hamilton very sweetly commented, I haven't updated in a almost a year. I'm sorry for that... really. Ill try to finish this up but I've lost motivation. If i do feel like i cant at all then i will post a proper outline of how the story end and what happens.
