Catalina's pov

"Okay, we're back!" Francesca announced with her older cousin in tow.

Shit. Antonela was Messi's wife. THE LEO MESSI'S WIFE. How Gabe managed to keep his cool, I had no idea. How was I going to keep my cool?

The two women sat down and we all began eating.

"So World Cup?" Gabriel said with his mouth full of food.

He was forward. Wasted absolutely no time getting to the point.

Antonela laughed, "I assume you know."

Gabriel nodded, "Please thank your husband for beating France. You've successfully avenged England."

"I'll pass the message onto Leo!"

"Shut the hell up Gabriel. England never stood a chance against France." Colette interjected.

"Allez les bleus." I mumbled jokingly, causing the others to chuckle a bit.

What was I supposed to say? I was eating dinner with basically the queen of all WAGs.

"Lina who did you support en la Copa Mundial?" Francesca questioned with curiosity.

I swallowed all of my food before answering.

"There was no Colombia so it was pretty easy to get behind the US." I responded, smiling.

"Typical American." Gabriel muttered, accentuating his British accent.

"And after they got knocked out?" Francesca continued with her questions.

"Then, I was die hard Argentina." I answered, garnering a smile from Antonela and Francesca.

"Argentina's a bitch." Colette yawned.

She received glares from Francesca and Antonela.

"What? It's true. We were about to be back to back world champions!" Colette smirked.

"Key word, about to be." Gabriel winked.

"Oh shut it quarterfinals." Colette snapped at Gabriel.

I covered my mouth to stop any food from coming out when I laughed. That however was a mistake.

Gabriel turned and shot me a wicked look, "You think this is funny round of 16?"

Damn, he had me there.

"As if you were able to beat us in the group stage." I shot back.

"Damnnnn she got youuuuu." Francesca sang.

"Vamos Lina (let's go Lina)!" Antonela turned to me, cheering.

"Nah bruv you guys barely qualified for the knockouts. Pulisic's balls had to do the job for you." Gabriel retorted.

"Don't insult Captain America like that. His name should never come out of your mouth."

Gabriel rolled his eyes, and suddenly, I was a lot more at ease with those at the table.

"Anyways, Antonela, Francesca, I'm sure the whole month has been non stop football for you, so I get if the topics a bit boring. Cómo fueron tus vacaciones (how were ur holidays)?" I asked them.

Antonela especially smiled gratefully at me. She of all people had probably had to been watching football all throughout November and December.

"It was good. Leo got some well deserved time off and we all got to go back to Argentina for a few weeks. Like a rejuvenation." She explained.
