The car stopped and my body jerked forward. I placed my knees down and fixed my hoodie, fixing my glasses and looking in the front.

“Your destination has arrived. I'm Car-L. And I'll come to pick you up tomorrow sharp at 7 am. You cannot escape. Because if you try to do it, the bracelet in your wrist will inject a toxic virus in your blood, causing instant death. Have a great night.”

The door opened automatically but I instantly looked at the steel rim around my wrist. It was a perfectly fitting band and I tried to pull it.

No use. It's made of steel. Not opening.

I sighed and turned around to get out of the car. I looked up but my eyes widened. Our house was half destroyed. I turned around and saw all the other houses merely holding up.

Fire blasters.

It's the work of those weapons. Blasters could turn anything into ashes in a few seconds. Most of the houses in the side streets were either completely destroyed or only a piece of wood was lying.

What just happened?

What happened suddenly? Did a meteor crash into earth?

Did some aliens invade our planet?

What are these games? This is not even a virtual reality game! This is happening in front of my eyes.

This is reality!

Not a virtual game. People are dying in front of me. The blood and everything is real. Definitely not a game!

I need to find out more. I'm not a robotics engineer for no reason. I made a robot myself—

Realisation hit me! I took out my phone and tried to locate Gen-II. But it showed no signal of contact.

I clicked on the side of my glasses, turning it into radar hunting goggles. "Search, location. Gen-II. Model 05032003M." I said and saw a black screen.

No signal from her.

"Where are you lost, Gen-II?" I asked and turned to look at the car still standing there, doors closed.

I turned back and walked to my home. The door was still there gladly. I entered but the house was dark. "Mom? Dad?"

I called out several times but nobody answered. Complete silence. "Did they leave this place? Where are they?"

I called on my mom's phone but then I heard the rings. I furrowed my brows in confusion. I slowly took steps towards the direction of the ring.

Kitchen.

I slowly walked towards the kitchen and creaked the door open. My eyes widened.

Blood rushing out of my parents' open mouths and miserable wounds, tainting the once pristine ground with the humor of ones taken too soon. Their chest laid still, no flickers of life or their usual innocence remaining in them, a surefire sign that they were dead.

I sprinted over, forgetting the fatigue in my swaying legs from the past battle, desperate to find any remaining flickers of life in my parents' bodies, but was met with cold silence.

Tears streamed down my face. I cried hard. "No! How?" I said while trying to reach her but it was too late. I collapsed on the ground, covering my face. "Who did this? What happened?"

----------------------

The burial was dressed here and there with some winter berries and green leaves, gathered in a spot they had been used to favour.

"When I die, put something near me that has loved the light, and had the sky above it always." Dad always used to say and mom used to hit him with a smile.

Memories. Those will remain just as memories now.

I looked at the sun rising in front of me. I joined my hands in front of my body and turned back to the exit of the graveyard.

So sudden. Everything's so sudden.

I cried more while removing my glasses and looked at my soiled clothes.

Yes, I used that fucking automatic car to bring my parents' corpses till here. Nobody to help me. Did everything alone. No sleep. Nothing.

After crying for almost 3 hours, I struggled a lot while doing everything but I at least need to let my parents rest in peace wherever they are.

I wiped my runny nose and put back my glasses as I saw the red car. I gritted my teeth and fisted my hands before walking towards it and getting inside.

"Take me back home!"
