Takes place before Christmas and after they get back together but are still technically divorced...

The family trip that hopefully gets this Evans family back together forever...

"So I'm not going to school for how long?" Nathan gapes his mouth open at me.

He's sitting on top of my bed, well, Chris's bed now too. Watching me pack into my suitcase for our vacation.

Chris made me realize how much I missed him the other night, not just with what he has in between those firm legs but with his words too.

I'm giving my family another chance. I have to. For the sake of my children, for my well-being.

"For 4 days," I repeat to my son, and watch as his eyes twinkle with joy and he gives me a big smile, "that's including the weekend."

"This is the best weekend ever!" He shoots up on our bed, throwing his hands up in the air.

I chuckle at him, and fold another one of my bathing suits in, that's when I realize Nathan had his shoes on.

My mood changes quick, "Nathan," I groan, "c'mon, get off the bed if you have shoes on! You literally just got in from skateboarding with Elias!"

Elias is my son's best friend, and to his convenience, our next door neighbor. He's also in the 4th grade like my kids. He also may or may not have a crush on Kit, I can see how nervous and quiet he gets whenever she's around, either that or he's scared of her.

Either way, he's a sweetheart! He also plays hockey with Nathan after school. Those boys do everything together.

Nathan continues cheering up and down on my clean comforter and repeating, "NO SCHOOL!"

"Nathaniel! Get down!" I try to tug on his shirt but he just giggles at me and dodges my attempted grabs.

God, this boy, he doesn't take me seriously.

Thankfully, Chris comes from being in Kit's room. He was getting her suitcase from our attic and he's just now returned.

Nathan's face goes from joyful to serious in the matter of seconds, he blinks innocently at his father, whom is standing behind me and probably giving our son some sort of disappointing glare.

My son doesn't take me serious, but I'll tell you who he does take serious...

"Nathan." Chris says in a cold tone.

Nathan bounces off our bed and onto the ground, he slips his shoes off and continues to jump.

Chris puts a hand on my hip, kissing my shoulder, I turn to look at him, "thanks," I murmur.

"Don't thank me honey, he's your son." He jokes, and sees my face expression and leans in for a kiss right on the corner of my mouth.

Things have been good lately, really good. Chris and Catherine are in the process of moving back in. And I can see he's trying to glue us back together.

I just hope he doesn't fuck up again, because not only will he let me down. He'll let Kit and Nathan down too.

"Dad where are we going?" Nathan says breathlessly from jumping so much, finally sitting down on his butt and putting his arms behind his head, laying against my side of the bed.

"It's a surprise, bud," Chris says while opening some drawers of his dresser. Probably looking for some shirts he left here.
